your religion isnt going to save you from your chemical imbalance. and benzos, well they help but effect everyone differently. i have very good results with my anxiety disorder with klonopin. for bi-polar, you could check out depakote or topomax. if have minimal success with them. if you want to stay away from meds, there are breathing and relaxation techniques you can find anywhere that would help. drink lots of water and try to get regular excersize.

You have a serious illness that needs to be treated by a specialist--a psychiatrist. Medicine is an inexact art that takes patience because every person has his/her own reaction to a medication. There are many medications in many strengths. You probably need to be on lithium and maybe other medication. You must stay with a doctor who can work with you to find the right medication(s). This is not anything to fool around with, as I'm sure you know.

I know what I'm talking about here. Find a psychiatrist and work with him/her so that you can get better. And stay on your medication, once you get the right
one(s).

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

You are very correct, you should not be on anti-depressants. And, Cymbalta is an anti-depressant. I would get a new doctor because you NEVER treat bipolar with an antidepressant. There are many mood stabilizers out there, and many help with anxiety. Unfortunately, the battle is finding the right "coctail" of meds. In other words, have you tried lamictal by itself, lamictal with zyprexa, lamictal with zyprexa and seroquel..... you see, the list goes on. A really good psychiatrist/psych medication prescriber should be able to help you. God helps those who seek to help themselves.

Honestly the best person to talk to about that is a trained professional, someone who knows your history will better be able to prescribe the correct medication for you. Talk to your mental health professional and see what he/she thinks would be best for you. If you don't like the doc you've been seeing I'd suggest getting a second opinion from another one.Preferrably someone who specializes in mental health. A family practitioner is really not qualified to diagnose and treat your kinds of problems. Good luck to you.

I agree with some of the others. We are not doctors here. We are not going to be able to help you identify the right meds for you. You and your doctor know what you have tried and what the sides affects were of each. Your medical staff are the only ones who can help you with what works best for you.
Even if I had one that worked for my, I know my body reacts so much differently than other people, that I would never recommend any drug based on my own personal experience.

Please, please please, contact your doctor immediately!
Good luck to you and God bless you for keeping the faith and staying the path.

your wanting help. I have it. dont laugh it off or anything like that please.

Jesus.

he is love, joy, peace, hope, kindess, soundness, powerfull, wonderfull, a healer, a friend, a father, a provider, refuge
He wants you to take hold of him with everything in you and to know that he sees you right where you are, hurting, deep down crying out for more to life then what yoru living, something deeper...its Him. He will set you free in a heartbeat if youll let him if not less, beacuse he hates to see his children that he loves and dreams for and has dreams of, knows the number of hairs on your head and every thought you think. He wants you to know he loves you and the stripes he got on his back, where for what your going through now, your why he went through everything he went through, so you can have wholeness and live a life of blessing through him...and all you have to do is ask for that. in your own words, thats prayer, talking to God. and he hears you, he will hear you and set you free, he alredy has if you just accept him and ask for him to change you and live in you. its nothing super spirtual, its REAL, more real then anything you have ever felt in your life, dont beleve me, TRY HIM, I dare you to.

Well, if you're bipolar, you need to be on a mood stabiliser. A number of these are also helpful for anxiety: check out the following:
