Chat more with that person. Know him better by talking more with him. Yes, he may be able to conceal his real identity behind the screen but after some time, you'll slowly discover some slight traits of his behaviour. Talk and know more about his family backgrounds or what kind of friends he's mixing with. When you're finally comfortable in meeting him in person, see how he dresses himself, the way he behaves and reacts. Look straight into his eyes when in conversation with him everytime. But don't look too serious that he'll be frighten by you. If he always tries to blink his eyes sometimes or doesn't look sincere, he may be lying. After the first meeting, you can consider if you want to see him again. If you think he's someone who interests you, try to go out with him for a few more occasions and also some gatherings with his friends. Know more of him before jumping into a "lightning" relationship. Most importantly is, you must have know what kind of relationship you're seeking for. If you're into a serious relationship, list out the criterias in your mind or what you want and match with the guy's ones. This is to see if your perfect bf meets most of your criterias. Make sure he's the one and then decide if you want him to your partner. If you're out for fun or flings, you can totally forget what I've said earlier on. Take care and hope you can understand what I'm trying to convey.

It depends. I'm a female in college and I've been in a serious relationship for almost a year. So if I were you, I would make sure that honesty is the number one aspect...because that includes other serious relationship necessities like trust, respect, etc. Make sure that you feel comfortable with that person, and that you see a future. You should be able to communicate, and if you see anything that might potential harm the relationship (e.g. attitude, moody, lazy, etc) then bring it up in before it ruins the relationship. If that person is at least willing to change for the better of the relationship, THAT is a serious successful relationship!
