History and the bible show that it is wrong to follow the traditions of man and not Gods laws. History and the Bible also prove these holidays and many others to be rooted in paganism yet many of us christians say"oh well" its all just fun. Does God see it as fun? Did you know that before, during, and after Jesus was born the Hebrews/Jews did not celebrate birthdays due to vanity Etc. They did not even celebrate their own birthdays why do we celebrate his? None of the disciples celebrated the birth of Christ. They did however celebrate his death. His death and resurection were of more signifigance than his birth. Not to mention December 25th wasn't even his birthday. The bible proves this too(do research) I don't know it all but I want to do what is pleasing to my Lord and no more. I don't think practicing paganism by celebrating their holidays would please him........do you. And if you think he doesn't care I pray that you think again. God Bless All !!

That is very true. I agree with you totally. Jesus was not born on December 25th. He was born in the Spring, near the Passover. Read Luke 2:1-11 and Luke 2:40-49.
Christmas is a pagan celebration. According to the Holy Bible, putting up a Christmas tree is Idolatry. Read Jer 10:1-5, Exo 20:4-5, Lev 26:1. The so-called Christmas tree's origin dates back to the Ancient Babylonians to honor Nimrod on his Birthday which is on December 25th. His mother set up this day to keep the rulership of the kingdom. She said his spirit will come out of the tree to curse and destroy them if they don't continue to bring tribute on this particular day every year, at this time of the year.

In Jeremiah the 10th chapter, the prophet Jeremiah condemns the so-called Christmas tree nearly 300 years before the birth of Jesus. Jeremiah 10:2 reads(Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.) The Christmas tree is in Jeremiah 10:3-4:for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold;...

The only Holidays (holy days) or Holy Feast days of God discussed in the Holy Bible are:
Hanukkah-
John 10:22

Passover-
Matt 26:17-19

Pentecost-
Acts 2:1

Feast of Tabernacles-
John 7:2

The Spirit that a lot of people get into during the holiday season is good. The problem is people do not carry that Spirit all year. God will cause good to come out of many things to serve Him, even some things that appear evil but really are not. I believe God is much bigger than that to get all hung up in these holidays and their roots. Seems to me a God of love and compassion would overlook such trivial matters and just go with the good found in it. Yes all of these holidays have pagan roots. I know the history behind all of them. The only one this time of year that is not rooted in paganism is Thanksgiving. All the rest, right through easter, are pagan. But if you look at christmas with an open heart and mind you will see that a lot of joy & love gets spread around. I see no harm in this, only good! I myself stopped celebrating it years ago, but I have not the right to judge others for doing so. I do not go around saying merry christmas to others. Sometimes I question them if they know what they are saying. My interpretation is this, have a merry communion in christ or with christ. That is pretty much a literal interpretation. I see no problem people wishing this on each other either. Now that I look at it again from another point of view I'm going to start saying it again this year. If you look at God as playing Santa Claus it can get very humorous. So you see much good has come out of this one pagan holiday. I pray you open your heart & mind this holiday season and not play the Grinch as I did for many years. It tends to harden your heart! Even the Grinch's hard heart melted from the pure love from the heart of a little girl. Meltdowns can be quite wonderful.
Merry Christmas,
Larry T

you are only practicing paganism if that is what you consider yourself doing

as for me and mine, we will continue to celebrate our birthdays, Jesus birth at Christmas(who cares what day) Jesus' death and resurrection at Easter, we will celebrate free candy at Halloween and we will wear green on St. Patricks Day
all with a clear conscience too

Why did you ask if you were going to answer? Seems you already know what you believe to be the truth about it.

he hasn't shown any signs of displeasure in the past millenia--and when he's displeased he tends to wipe out all of humanity--I think we would have noticed

From the way you describe, God seems kind of boring. Want to know how to please God. Think
