Tell your mom that you will take care of it. Ask her to give you two weeks to prove it. Us moms know that kids will SAY anything, but when it comes time to do it they usually don't. Show her that you won't get bored with it. If you get an allowance, offer to help pay for it to go to a vet and have a check-up, shots, neuturing or spaying. You can also get some of these things from your local humane society or animal control. Find the numbers in your area. Do the leg work to show that you are serious. Find a box and put liter or sand in it for it to use the bathroom, keep the box clean everyday. Depending on it's age it will need to be fed every couple of hours. Your local pet store will have Kitten Milk and small bottles. Very inexpensive. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK and stick with it.

First you need to take this precious kitty to the vet. Get it scanned for a microchip just in case. If no microchip, then you need to get its shots, or this kitty could die of a disease.

Get a litter box, litter, kitty food, etc. Keep the cat in one room for a while until it gets the hang of using the box. And slowly allow the kitty to go into more rooms. And then eventually let it roam the house.

As far as your mom. Work a deal out with her about a trail period. And tell her you need a friend. And kitty will be your friend. Good Luck! And welcome to the world of kitty rescue.

Hi, first of all, I think you should take the cat to your vet, and get it scanned for a microchip, someone maybe missing their cat, and if a scan comes back with owner details, you'll be making the owner very happy by returning their lost cat, then I would convince your Mum to adobt a cat from the local cattery as they are all vet checked and healthy when they leave the cattery, you will also be giving them a chance to start out life fresh with a loving owner :)
