Hi! I am a mexican citizen, living and working right across from El Paso, Texas. Unfortunately I have no American relatives who could "pull me" into the States. I have always wanted to join the US Air Force, and could do great things there, I am pretty sure. I would adopt the American citizenship if necessary. Hey! I have things to offer, too! I have an education, have a degree in Engineering and have strong experience in radio and fiber optics communications, can speak good English and mid German, have walked the world a bit and even worked as an English Teacher. I am 26, too, so I have not a lot of time to keep contemplating... BTW... I was born on July 4th, does it help somehow? Thanks!

First of all, see a recruiter and ask the same questions you did here. You may need to take several steps to get citizenship. Get your green card and all the legal stuff taken care of first before you come to the U.S.

Being born on July 4th doesn't make a difference.

Sebastian, I used to recruit for the USAF. It used to be a quantity of years in the past however I can simplest surmise that the access necessities have now not transformed all that a lot. There used to be just a small percent of GED holders who have been Enlisted. In addition to the GED, in addition they had to cross the ASVAB examination (with enough ratings), meet the bodily necessities by means of the medical professionals at MEPS and meet the ethical recommendations set by means of the AF as good. It is definitely valued at a take a look at. I could get my GED immediately and speak to a neighborhood USAF recruiter. They can aid you with the opposite files you could want (IE delivery certificates, & SSAN card). He/she might get you processed and equipped whilst the GED openings are published to Recruuiting Service. Good good fortune
