I would prefer to go suddenly as knowing you are going to die would be hard for me. As a nurse I have seen to many people suffer or be uncomfortable as they get close to death with labored breathing and restlessness etc. That part would bother me terribly so just take me quickly so I don't know what happened.

I think both ways have pros and cons.

Being given a time frame have pros b/c you can do what you wanted to do before you die, but once you get closer and closer to that time it'll be very hard for you and your family. I don't know what I would do if I knew I would die tomorrow. You would know the night before that this is the last time you'll brush your teeth, say good night to your loved ones, enjoy the comfortness of your own bed, etc.

For just dying suddenly, you wouldn't be able to do the things you wanted to do before your death, but on the same token, you wouldn't have to dread the final days, the final hours, the final minutes, the final seconds before your death.

It would scare me a lot to know when I was going to die, but I think I would want to know so I can make the best of my time. Like that "Last Holiday" movie, I'd want to get my stuff in order and make sure my kids were taken care off, then I could go off and enjoy the hell out of the rest of my life. Don't want to make my mark on this world, I want to leave a huge dent!!

Not that choice is involved, I would like to know, preferably that I have about three more decades. That way I can get everything in order for my kids and not leave this gigantic mess of stuff that we live in. But since it could be any minute now, I'd better get back to cutting the clutter!

I would rather not know. You know how when you are expecting something unpleasant how you get nervous as you get close to that event. Death is the great unknown and knowing when I would die would make me so scared and even worse is I wouldnt die of fear until the appointed time. whoa, freaky

The only reason I would want to know, is so I could give my mom a hug first. Over all, I would rather not know. Don't want to spend the remainder of my days paranoid and clinched.

I would like to know exactly when so I can take out a loan from some loan sharks and do whatever it is in life that i want to do. Kind of like Buscemi in Armageddon

Excellent question. After evaluating the options and their advantages...and not....

I think that I would prefer to go as my grandfather and as my father passed......they laid down on the sofa or bed closed their eyes and to never wake up.
