What, you've never seen an inexplicably sinless elderly man build a boat 200 yards long (with one window), stack two of every living creature on it (in one day) and ride out a world-encompassing flood for either 40 or 150 days that destroyed all living things left over (only to have all the trees grow back in seven days), then make burnt sacrifices from every set of creatures he had just saved?

People lived longer back then. As man got further from the Garden of Eden his life span began to shorten. Look it up, in the time of Moses a generation was approx. 40 years. It started to swing back the other way after the coming of Christ. Some would argue this saying that in the middle ages the average lifespan was still 40 years. It was but you also have to take into account that the living conditions were very, very bad. To the point that personal hygiene was almost nonexistent in Europe as a whole. Other parts of the world did much better on the average lifespan
Personally I believe in life eternal.

people interpret the writings of this history in different ways according to their own cognition. I believe the translation from the ancient version to English has caused confusion. For example when the writing states that the whole world was flooded, the word "world" is similar to "ones nation". Since communities were widely dispersed and isolated they considered themselves to be the only people in existence. When in truth it was just one nation or community that suffered the great flood. This type of misinterpretation could also exist with age or length of a year.

600 IS A FAR CRY FROM EVERLASTING LIFE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
These first people in time before the flood and after Adam, although born in sin to die, were still in the life sustaining earth. This allowed a long life, but not 1000 years.
Adam created in God's image with his first day being the same as a day for God which is a 1000 year day [ he was meant to live forever ], died in the day he sinned at age 930.
Then the oldest of them were 962 and 969 and he died in the flood year [ Adam was age 687 of his 930 when Methusaleh was born, so Methusaleh was age 243 years old when Adam died ];
Adam had been dead 126 years when Noah was born and Noah was age 600 Gen.7:6; during the flood year, they wre in the ark 375 days before the land was dry on mount Ararat.
Noah lived 350 years after the life sustaining earth was lost Gen.9:28,29;
Shem, the son of Noah had 502 years of life after the flood and the loss of the life sustaining earth, to die at age 600. He left behing Abraham who was age 150 [ of 175 ]. and Isaac who was age 50 [ of 180 ], and Ishmael age 64 [ 0f 137 ]; Sarah had died when Isaac was age 37.
Isaac was age 40 when he married Rebecca and age 60 when the twins were born.
Jacob is heir to the Promised Land Covenant given to Abraham 427 years after the flood, he produces the twelve tribes of Israel and he is age 130 Gen.47:9,11,28 when he and the Family began life in Rameses Egypt, [ he dies in 17 years ];
The family increase to half a million in 215 years of life in Rameses Egypt to Moses age 80 Exo.7:7; 12:40,41 [ the 430 years after Promised Land covenant 427 years ago ].
In 40 years when Moses is age 120 and dies, Joshua takes them into the Promised Land. Josh.5:6,10,12 [ NOW THE BREAD FROM HEAVEN WILL STOP]; From 352 years after the flood to 897 years they have been a people without a garden spot to call their own. 1513 BCE.
Joseph [ Jacobs son as governor ] feed them 70 years to his death in Egypt, he had been dead 65 years when Moses was born in bondage in Egypt, Moses was 80 years of age to bring them out of bondage and 120 when they got to their land.
1513 less 1Ki.6:1 480 to Solomon and 1Ki.11:42 36 years to his death is 997 BCE.
Solomon is age 69 when he dies and David is age 70 1Ki.2:10.11;
Daniel was 606 to 533 BCE, Greece was 336 BCE and the Maccabees were 164 BCe and Rome was over Judah and Jerusalen 62 years before Christ was born there in the sixth world Empire. We got the bible in the 7th world Empire. Jesus comes again in the 8th, we are there now and GUESS WHAT Rev.20:1-6 WE GET OUR 1000 YEARS DAY.

Obviously in those times people lived to extremely high ages. Adam died at the age of 930. 600 was still relatively middle aged in those days.

its all about the concept of time --- for example in some native american cultures it was customary to date a person by the moon -- so a person could actully be 100 only it was moon based -- substitue years for moons and there you go he lived to be 600 years -- and his age is based on a calender we no longer use -- since the modorn calender was invented in roman times -- who knows what the days are -- and 600 moons is about 50 years -- its all about concept of time
