Hm..many of you have good points, but why did they chose a typical color to name the hair, while there are brunettes and blondes?

Just to add a different comment - here in Australia we call anyone who has red hair 'Blue' or 'Bluey'. I have no idea where this came from.

Because it is.Not all redheads have that copper color.The same reason that black people are called black and not brown.LOL
