We have a 4 yr old and an 8 yr old.

They brush there teeth by 7:30pm, and get changed for bed at 7:45. I read to them a few books, and by 8:00pm they are to go to sleep.

Often they do not fall asleep until 8:30pm

No T.V. or computer during the week at all, so they stay focused on there studies.

This system works good for our household.

During the week during the school year, my 7 year old and 4 year old go to bed by 8:30pm. On weekends and during the summer, we let them stay up until 10 pm or so unless we have to get up early the next morning to go somewhere.

my 3 month old is not a schedule baby....I've tried. He goes to bed between 11:30pm and 12:30am. Sleeps 11 to 12 hours. His choice! He's the boss for now!

Definitly depends on the age of the child. Anyone under 10 years old 9pm at the latest.

8:30. She's 5. Bedtime has always been a struggle, but it gets better/easier as she gets older.
