I JUST learned this the other the day!!
slice off both ends so it will stand up steadily...score the husk into quarters...
submerge fruit and break apart in a bowl of water..they will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the membrane will float to the top...discard membrane...
drain liquid and put seeds to one side....enjoy!!

I used to ruin about half of the seed while peeling and seeding a pomegranate. Then I began to do it this way. First with a knife peel all the leathery skin off then remove the top and the bottom these cuts should not be to deep because you can pop the seeds. then grasping the fruit in both hands pull it apart. Then begin to seed it into a bowl or colander, when done rinse the seeds off in a bowl. The bitter pith will rise to the top and can be removed. Then dry and enjoy. I really love pomegranates my dad had a bush or tree in the yard and now is when they are best. It is a lot of work but well worth it.

The best way I've found to extract Pomegranate seeds is to crack or cut the fruit underwater in a large bowl. Then use your fingers and the heels of your hands to rub and separate the seeds from the husk and membranes. Working underwater helps contain the spatter stains from popping seeds and the membranes float to the top of the water staying separate from the edible seeds.
