We keep hearing all of the negative effects of global warming. Are there any positive effects?

Ignore the closed minds that see only the negative.

Anyone with a pinch of common sense will see that where a land was dry and rain falls it produces growth as happens in many desserts.

In countries where extreme cold is a problem, then warming will allow people a better life and again encourage plant growth.

In countries that are extremely hot the change in weather patterns can cause them to cool giving a better standard of life and again giving plants a better chance.

Global warming is going out of fashion simply because the facts do not stack up. The thinking scientists, politicians and media now use the term 'Climate Change'. The same amount of rain is falling it just falls somewhere different. Whilst ice sheets are melting in one place oceans are getting colder elsewhere and not from melt water.

Nearly every effect put down to global warming is easily explained by quite a small swing in the weather.

A British antarctic scientist has said that he could not hand on heart put it down to global warming. Another university professor points out that global warming has more to do with myth than reality. Many scientists agree that the reason the ice is melting is a shift in the wind stream causing warm winds to blow across it.

The most positive thing that global warming theory has done is raise awareness of greenhouse gas emissions and focus attention on alternate energy.

Well, global warming as we all know will have several different effects, from temperature rise and drop, to precipitation amount rise and drop. Of course this applies to different regions. Europe is predicted to have a temperature drop and rise of the precipitation quantities. Which means in some regions of Europe more rain is expected to fall. If it will be an area where more rain is needed, then this would be a positive effect. Of course Europe is not the only region to have expected higher precipitation quantities, there are other regions as well, depends on their geographical position. The northern parts of Russia are expected to have a temperature rise, which mans that agricultural production or growth belt could move further to the north, mentioned area would be warmer, less energy would be used for heating, etc.

well, if we're talking about the enviromental effects of the earth, i could go on and on about the negative effects.

but, if i may go off topic :D , it has brought thw world closer together ? as in scientists and researchers are colaborating, sharing information, contucting tests etc together. bringing together ppl of different nationalities , religions racews. friendships are made .

all because of global warning and an effort to improve out situation :D

Actually, what ever happens in this universe is not good. Maybe you have heard of the theory of chaos. At the point of chaos, the entropy of the universe is so high that everything on it is completely disorganized.
