I am a Christian but i wont speak for everyone here i'll just say that i do not fear atheism or any other religion/belief out there.
Atheism can have many truths to it as well. In fact almost all belief systems have some 'good' in them.
I know many atheists with very strict morals. And i also know that they do not worship Satan (mainly because they do not believe in his existence). But being an atheist has never instantly made someone a bad person!
From a Christian perspective we are all sinners, therefore I am no better than any other man on this earth in Gods eyes. I am equal to every single atheist. In fact there may be some atheists who are much better people than i am.
However many Christians do feel threatened because atheism seems to particularly single out Christianity and oppose these beliefs. Many Christians just believe that this outlook on life is just too pessimistic, and reflects their life experiences. For example if they were counting on God for something and He chose not to do as asked. Even some say as the world deteriorates socially and morally God has left us, I say the opposite.
God is God He can choose and do what He likes. For it is all about His will, if i have anything good in my life at all its because he gave it, i did not earn it without Him, therefore if He takes it away then it has always been His to take away. He has chosen to give us certain scientific evidences that show some very powerful things. And being true to His creation anything we ever discover will never be contrary to God.
I truly believe in the power of science and our human brains. But one thing we must dare not do is rationalise God. Many atheists have made the mistake of trying to fathom all the knowledge there is in the universe and saying 'God does not exist in my knowledge'. Well to these people i simply ask if they truly believe they know all there is to know ever in the universe, and the only sensible answer is no. So then is it possible that God simply exists outside your knowledge? Of course that is the true logic here. To admit that He may exist is logical which of course defines an 'atheist' as an agnostic and not an atheist.
Christians do not hate/fear atheists because they hold the key to knowledge, if anything it is because atheists believe that they hold the key to knowledge of no God, where as this is impossible and requires complete universal knowledge.
I believe that if a person truly comes to the conclusion that there is no God, (through logic) then they have not considered all logic. And should at least accept the possibility, for not doing so would be illogical.

Lot's of people fear Communism, the biggest cult of the Atheists. Without Communists, atheists almost wouldn't exist. You'd be about 2% of the world. With Communists you're about 5%.
The USSR, Mainland China, North Korea, Vietman, Cuba all Athiest driven organizations and look what they stand for and what they do. Re-education camps, gulags, brick walls with blood splotches on them.
Atheists come to power and hold guns to peoples head to drive out the desires to have Easter or Christmas or Passover or Ramadan.
This is the Atheist legacy, like it or not!
Stalin, Marx, Engles, Lennin, Mao, Ho Chi Min, Castro.
All good NON-GOD-FEARING people.
This is how atheists exert their powers over people.
With KGB and marching Armies.
That's the ONLY way they can drive God undeground!
You can't do it with words, word's don't work, so you have to use bullets.
Poland, Romania, Serbia, Herocovina, Boznia, Croatia, Hungary, East Germany.
45 years of Atheist domination sure didn't do a damn thing to drive religion out of man!
Can't athiests see the reality of how vapid their view of the world is and 5.9 billon people just aren't going to buy it, no matter how many guns you hold to their heads.
If there's anything that will make Christians, Jews, Buddists, Hindus and Muslims come together, it's the defeate of the Athiest state.
How does one spell Atheist?
C O M M I E!
In Communism, Atheism isn't just a way of life, it's MANDITORY!

Yes everyone who seems to believe in something, must put down any form of non-dogma! I think their could be a higher being, but because I can not hear, see, feel, or even comprehend the concept. I will not bother with it. Abide my time by working hard at my job to raise my children with love, and maintain a peaceful aspect on my life. Nothing is easy to understand through a blind faith. Take what you will, give back what you take! That's simple. Believing that you pray and all is well, that's just unrealistic! Having some thing to believe in that's gonna make it all better before you die so you wont feel so scared, is cowardly really. Just know that your life is what you make of it. Not some higher being like a kid with a magnifying glass and an ant pile!!!!

I don't think that atheists are Satan worshipers, nor do they go without morals, as you said. I'm a Christian and I don't 'fear' atheism, so whats up with making an accusation like that? Don't you think that's a bit hypocritical?
Though I have one question. Where do atheists get their morals from? I mean, most 'morals' came from the bible... so... how does that work out exactly? Not trying start somethin', just curious. Good luck with answers. :)

That makes the least experience of something i've got ever heard (to boot that length would not propose limits and that each and one and all Bible verses ought to be completely comprehensible out of context). we don't have actual _proof_ that God is actual, yet that would not propose he's no longer. there's a super form of knowledge--emotional, religious, actual, logical, historic, etc--that God is actual, yet no data. a similar is going for many issues in technological know-how. there is not any longer sure data of the properly known scientific fashions for the life cycle of stars, or the indoors composition of the earth. despite the fact that, there is adequate data to warrant perception. a similar applies to God. via the way, no longer being waiting to declare definitively that God exists isn't comparable to being an atheist. Atheists particularly have self assurance God would not exist.

Christians can't fear something that they used to be. Atheism is an false excuse and copy out for sinners who are bitter and just reject God. The fact that atheists have to have a label to call themselves anything is worse within itself and Christians don't have to say anything.

Make it simple.
"A" means without, like in anonym, avitamin, amoral, etc.
"the" has something to do with God, like in theology.
"ist" means a person, like in pianist, artist, etc.
"Atheist" means a person who does not believe in the existance of God. Full stop.
Does he believe in satan and ghosts and the kinds? Ask him.
Does he have morals or is he immorals? That depends on him individually. Believing or not believing in God does not guarantee his morality.

that's why they keep insisting that Hitler was an atheist when even the most cursory google search will prove he was raised a Catholic.
It's a long-running smear campaign. And it works!
