sometimes u have to face your past before u can move on. i was abused as a child. and i am facing my past i want to just forget it. but u can't do that until u face the past and resolve any issues that are not resolved

Yeap. That is the main reason why human can forget anything that freaking their mind. Just forget the past. Don't look behind.

No, you can forget the past because it has gone and no matter what happened cannot be changed. Consequently it is not worth dwelling on.
