Whats the difference between being agnostic and Deist. Is it just the evolution prospect that is different? Both believe in a devine power but neither recognize any formed religeon. That is if I understand correctly if not please correct. Thanks for the answers.

A Deist believes that there is some source of Divine power outside of science "something like providence" that exists and is the basis for the existence of all things and the rights of mankind. Thomas Jefferson a good example... An agnostic on the other hand says "I don't know and cannot find empirical evidence that a Divine source exists" but does not rule the possibility out like an atheist would.

Agnostics do not beleive in a divine power. Agnosticism asserts that the existence or nonexistence of a deity cannot be known and therefore asserts that the question, "Is there a deific force," is entirely meaningless, akin to, "What is the color of the smell of the other side of this here mobius loop?"

I think AGNOSTICS don't believe in a divine power; Agnostics say they do NOT know or that such is UNknoweable.
