he's been bugging me about hanging out with me, so I finally gave him the chance to be seen with me tonight, and he stands me up! We've gone out once before a couple years ago. I think it's messed up, he made me waste my time, make-up and my perfume on him. So what do I tell him when he calls? Should I be a female dog to him????

It's not like I liked him, I was bored today, so I thought "Why not, let's go out and have a few drinks" Personally, I think he has a "main squeeze". But oh well, his lost not mine.

I've had a few women stand me up over the years, it sucks.
However, don't jump to conclusions. Let him speak first, see if he actually has a good excuse. If he has a bad excuse tell him how you feel quickly then let him go. Let him know he screwed up but don't drag it out, and don't cling to it. Move on to someone else.

If you're really not into him, next time you see him, try: 'I hope you didn't wait too long on "whatever" night ... I was just soooo tired, I couldn't be bothered, and I just couldn't find your phone number without actually getting up...you know how it is'. (I have used this, and it's very effective. They usually stand there making funny noises for a minute before they can answer. You can be gone by then!)
If you think you 'might' like to see him again, let him make excuses a while and forgive him (if it's a good one, like bad car accident, or something.)

You should say "thank you" to him and tell him not to call you again. This experience should give you a clear message that this guy is flaky, inconsiderate and not-dependable. There are a lot more fishes in the sea and you could do better.
But, if you are drawn to such kind of guys, as in a co-dependency situation or irresponsible coalition, then you just got your reward.

There is no excuse for a person to not show and not extend the courtesy of calling to say he will not be showing. Simply ignore him. Do not give him the pleasure of letting him know that the thought of him crossed your brain. When you see him smile sweetly and if he offers to hang out or go on a date, tell him thanks, but your busy. This really drives them up the wall to think that they have no effect on you whatsoever.

Accept his apology graciously and give him a chance to explain. Who knows, maybe there was a dire emergency. If, however, he's just a shallow cad who stands up women, still accept his apology with grace (don't lower yourself to his level), and firmly answer, "no, thank you" next time he offers to spend time with you.
Best Regards,
Holly
ps/ Don't be a "female dog" to him ... you're better than that!

Take the high road and keep your dignity. If he apologizes, then accept it. But I wouldn't go out with him again. Especially since you don't really like him. But don't be mean. Better chance of snagging someone else who'll appreciate the privilege of being seen with you.

Gypsy has the right idea; however, if you think he has a "main squeeze" why were you going out with him anyway? Hope you dragged yourself off to a bar and picked up someone else who helped your boredom.

yep, i understand what it felt like....the make up and perfume and all those beautiful stuff u want him to see but he stood u up.
well, first, its not the man who sees those stuff, its the women actually and the men sees u as a whole..
going back to ur question.... if he calls to apologize, say u accepted his apology and are busy at the moment. whatever kind of apology he has.
never settle any more dates with him. no way. bec for sure, u will be stood up again.. no joke...
find another man to date.. would be cool....this one has no balls; and no balls man will ever be annoying and irritating.....trust me...

Say nothing unless he has a brilliant, believable excuse. He should of at least called to say he couldn't make it. He no longer deserves your attention.

Unless he's in the hospital there is no good excuse.
Tell him you stayed in your pj's and bunny slippers and forgot to set the alarm and napped too long anyway.
Henceforth, he is dogmeat.
