Liquid gold Dial soap is best for cleaning it. Also go out and get sea salt to use for sea salt soaks. Wash the piercing with the soap twice daily and remove crust from the piercing. Once you are done, mix warm water with sea salt so the solution tastes like tears and saturate a cotton ball or paper towel and hold in on the piercing for 10-15 minutes and do this 2-3 times daily.
Avoid Bactine, neosporin, peroxide, astringents, alcohol, epsom salt and table salt. All of those products are too harsh for piercings and will irritate the skin, increase risk for slower healing time and pain.
Avoid tight pants and clothing that will rub against this area. Do not touch or move the jewelry with dirty hands. Keep in mind it take anywhere from 6-12 months on average to heal, and you should never remove jewelry during this time. Also be careful to not sleep on your stomach or have constant pressure on the area.

Go ahead and use the dial soap, however after wards do a warm salt water soak- easy way is to fill a cup and 'cup' it over your navel while in the shower- this should be done at least twice a day.
No peroxide, it kills living tissue. No alcohol. Diluted betadine is OK but it may discolor jewelry.

The main issue with a navel piercing is to keep it clean. Be careful of lint. Make sure to dry it completely. And protect it from being injured by any type of pulling by zippers buttons etc from clothing.

Take a piece of cotton, saturate it in hydrogen peroxide and squeeze it unto your piercing. Do this alot!! No soap yet.
I have REALLY sensitive skin, and this worked like a charm for me. It healed completely in about 3 weeks.
