Yes it is a miracle it is a sign that Catholics are Holy because Scripture says "I will not let my Holy ones see decay" God uses these things as signs only. She is in pristine condition and all of her ligaments are supple. Even her liver was what they termed fresh. She was not embalmed.

Abraham Lincoln was re-embalmed many times as his funeral train went across the US since the public was allowed to see him at each stop. He was exhumed a few years back and he hasn't really decomposed although the flag covering his body did . . . is he a saint? A fascinating man, but I doubt if he would want to be considered a saint.

Most likely highly embalmed and then sealed airtight, haven't seen the grave setting myself but this is usually the case. Other bodies have been so amazingly preserved as to say they haven't decomposed, then if the departed is a catholic they can call it a miracle. And I would bet that all bodies of people who were like hers were most likely prepared in same way by Catholic church.

uh, yes she decomposed. A wax figure of her is kept under glass and believers are told that it's her. I'm not sure if it's at the vatican or at lourdes. I don't know why things like this are done. It's seems crazy to me to give the body such value when it's the spirit that would be so valuable.

No it is not a miracle. Look at the mummy they found in China. Her muscular structure, skin was fully intact, and it was centuries old. Just take good care of something and it won't decompose.

if you believe it the way you have written it, then yes, it is a miracle. her body, and those of other saints, would not decompose because they are infused with the Holy Spirit, or somesuch thing. it's really up to you whether you think it is true and a miracle, but that is what the Catholic church says it is.

Yes. Same with St. Cecilia, who was martyred 1800 years ago, & whose body did not decompose.

According to various articles I have read - her body is mummified and there's degrees of decay.... of course she's been "cleaned up" a bit and sealed in a gold and glass reliquary(for displaying in her chapel). ...keeping her as she is for probably centuries to come.

really?
Hey, there was a priest in Quebec whose body was transfered to Manitoba, and when they disinterred him only one toe was decomposed. He was in the ground quite a while. Everyone was amazed.
