Jesus welcomed death not salvation from it. Jesus Saves and he will continue to Saves those who are willing to put sin from them and receive eternal life.
Shalom

Excellent question! Either Jesus couldn't save himself, or that wasn't the plan. I was taught that there was a plan proposed by Jesus Christ in the pre-existence, that he would come to the world as the Savior of the world, but he would force no man/woman to believe. The other plan was proposed by our brother, Lucifer. Lucifer proposed that he would go down to earth and save every single spirit that God gave bodies to, so that not one soul would be lost. I was taught that this plan was anathema to God, because he desired his children to have "agency," or the power to think and act for themselves. God knew that if he adopted Jesus' plan, that he would lose some of his children, due to agency to choose for themselves. However, he chose Jesus' plan. Thus, Jesus could have saved himself, but he could not, without thwarting the plan of our Heavenly Father. Jesus died so that others might live. His dying on the cross and ressurecting has given us all the opportunity to ressurect. Now, all we have to do is develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ so that he may indeed save you and I. No one can be saved except by Jesus Christ. No one can reach the end of his life and bang on the holy gates and demand to be admitted because he or she "lived a good life." The Bible teaches that it is by grace that any of us will be saved, not by our works alone. Jesus could have saved himself, but to do so would have ruined our chance to prove ourselves to Jesus that we will keep his commandments and when we don't, we will repent and try to do better tomorrow. That's all that is expected of us on this earth. Just try to make fewer mistakes tomorrow than we made today! Good Luck to you!

Jesus could have saved Himself at any point, in fact He did save Himself when He came back from the dead and walked out of the tomb.

Save Himself from what? He openly gave his life.
Not to be mean but before you go trying to make a point, you might want to know what you're talking about first.
No matter how hard you try, you're not going to shake the faith of a believer. If you're trying to shake the faith of someone that's not quite sure if they're ready to be a Christian or not then you're just so bound and determined to hurt others that you're not able to see the forest for the trees.
You're pretty much a "religious terrorist" if you think about it. Terrorists tried to hurt us 9/11 but we stood strong (together)... you're trying to hurt Christians but we'll stay strong (and knowledgeable about your ploys).
Why would you want so badly to turn people away from something that gives them hope and purpose (not to mention that it's the way we should live anyway)? When I tell my non-believer friends about my faith, I'm not trying to be mean or hurt them, but you are..... why is that?

He honored his Father in Heaven in order to be the sacrifice necessary to save the world. Jesus said "not my will, but Thine be done". He can save you too, if you admit you are a sinner, believe that he died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day, ask him to forgive you for your sins and you repent from those sins.

He COULD have "saved himself" but if He had, then He wouldn't have saved us!
He could have called 12 legions of angels to set Him free ... but then He would not have made atonement for our sins.
No one took His life from Him; He had the power/right/authority to lay it down and to take it again.
On the night in which He was betrayed, He demonstrated His power. He identified Himself as the "I AM" and the soldiers were knocked over backwards by the Power.
He was delivered for our offences and raised for our justification.

Every one who answered are ignorant. The fact is jesus allowed himself to be crucified.
and remember he rose again.he has proven the true love for us.He is the greatest of the souls. That is why he is worshipped.the crucification is great proof for u that love has no bounds,What more can u give to show ur love.U can give ur wealth or do some help. But Jesus was great. He has given his life. What more can he give to save u.He took pains for u cuz...he loves u.only his body was tormented. The body is always due for destruction.Hence it is untruth.the soul is only truth, that which will exist eternally is truth.
His soul is existing.pray,u will be blessed. When u do sin,ask for his forgiveness.be happy and be blessed.May god bless u,my dear friend.

The fair wages of sin is death. Jesus lead a sinless life, so death had no hold on Him. That's why he was able to resurect. Yes, I believe that ONLY He can save the world.

Jesus was God's ultimate sacrifice. He can save you if you allow it. He is part of the Trinity, which was placed on Earth to die for mans' sins, those that believe in him, so they wouldn't have to.
You know, you can say or do whatever you want, believe or not, but you better be sure that you're right, cause when you die, it's to late to backtrack

Jesus was able to save himself. He decided to go through with the death so our sins would be forgiven, and so we would be able to go to heaven. Jesus loves you too, you know. Come to Him, and He will save you. He is the best friend that never betrays.
