Tina, digestive enzymes? Could you explain that one please? Butter on popcorn.. bread on butter.. etc. I hadn't thought of that. Hmm. Well, I don't want to be gross here.. but let's just say that it doesn't go down properly.

And, gatorade makes me dizzy, get feverish, etc. I didn't used to have a problem with gatorade at all.

It could be a corn allergy. I have it. If you have it then the things you listed could give you problems...

Popcorn; (as if that isn't bad enough, they have to put margarine on it, which has corn oil) Some find that popcorn's proteins are broken down when it pops and they only have reactions with the husk and kernel. (It's the fumes that get to me.)

Most Ice Creams have corn sweeteners (high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, etc.) Most of Breyers' Ice Cream does not.

Pizza can have corn meal on the bottom of the crust to keep it from sticking to the oven/pan. There can be corn starch in the bread mix. Corn oil could be used. Sometimes the pizza sauces have corn syrup or food starch (often corn starch).

Gatorade has Corn syrup.

Beware of canned soda. Regular sodas are sweetened with corn syrup. Diet sodas may have sucralose (Splenda, from corn) but it is broken down to it's chemical components, so most of us do not have a problem with it.

Packets of Splenda, Equal, etc are usually Mixed with Dextrose to give it volume.

Corn allergies are considered rare. You can check the web site below. You can get tested for allergies by a doctor (If you have an HMO, check with them first).

Beware, corn is in just about everything. It makes things smell nice (fabreze and corn starch) like feminine products and the pad under the steak/hamberger at the grocery store. It controls the bad flavor of iodine in Table Salt. Corn oil can be the shine on your fruit (apples) & vegetables (cucumbers). It also can be the oil on plastic-wrap that keeps it from sticking to the roll. Corn also keeps hard candies from being so drippy.

Beware of food starch and Fructose because they are often made from corn. The sweetener, dextrose, is made from corn. Most of the other corn products have "corn" somewhere in their name.

Benedryl helps me the most, but puts me to sleep, so I usually use something else.. Everybody with allergies react differently to antihistamines, in other words, what works to control a corn reaction in one person, may not work for someone else.

Best of luck. My doctor tells me that my allergy could go from mild to dangerous, without warning, any time that I eat corn. You should find out what you are dealing with (go to the Dr.) before something bad happens.

it could be a digestive problem, what exactly else happens? just stomach upsets? It could be your gall bladder. It could also be a dairy allergy with butter on popcorn, milk in ice cream, and milk or dairy like whey in breads and pizza crust along with the cheese. The gatorade is a puzzle though unless it's a flavoring in it. Have you tried digestive enzymes to see if it helps?

Go see an allergist and get a test.

Dairy, wheat, and corn are common allergies. Gatorade may have corn sweetener.

My husband is allergic to corn. I am allergic to dairy products. Some people are not allergic to dairy, they are INTOLERANT. This means if they take a product such as LACTAID, they can digest dairy and not have extreme gas or vomiting.
