If that is a wine that both you and youre husband like, then have it. Forget the wine snobs. And may God bless you both!

what are you serving the wine with? if you want a light white wine i STRONGLY suggest a portuguese vinho verde -- it means "green wine" and while hard to explain it tastes like a day at the beach. they are not aged and quite yummy and inexpensive. call around to local wine shops or abc liquors.
A good second choice although dryer would be an italian pinot grigio.
Pinot grigio is a good standard grape that produces even wines so you don't have to worry about buying bad cheap stuff.
I would strongly suggest you go to a wine shop or an abc liquor and not a grocery store. someone should be able to help you -- they get paid to do that. and if you tell them you want something under 10 dollars then they can go with that.
stay out of california wines though. they have been producing poor quality mass production for a while. i do have a weakness for cheap california chenin blanc -- its nice and citrusy. i think berringer and/or sutter home makes one.

There are no rules to wine drinking. It is whatever you like. White zinfandel was actually made by mistake. The skins from the grapes are pulled from fermentation sooner than usual. Wine gets it's color from the skins. All white zinfandel really tastes the same. If you like sweet wines try a nice german riesling.

Sutter Home is a cheap table wine, not the type that's meant to be aged. And it's white zin. Try to drink it if you like, dump it down the sink, and take the bottles into recycling for ten cents.

In my opinion, I feel that this is probably the best "inexpensive" White Zinfandel on the market today.
When compared to others such as E & J Gallo, Franzia and the like...

It doesn't cost much, because it isn't worth much. It's OK for cooking, but not for a special occasion.
