I don't have any credit at all. I never have. I've never had a credit card, don't owe anyone a dime. I've thought it was a good idea to pay for a lot of things in cash so I wouldn't get into debt. But now it would be handy to have one and pay it off - to have some credit. I've applied for many, many cards and even tried through my bank and been turned down. Not because I have bad credit - but because I have none. I rent my own apartment and have an open account with a cell phone carrier. I paid for my car in full- upfront - so that's out. Any suggestions?

I started out ordering things from Fingerhut, after a couple of months when it appeared that I was keeping up they offered me a credit card. Then the balance limit kept going up and up. Be sure to keep up your payments or pay off the balance completely and NEVER miss a payment or be late. 7 years ago my credit was in the sewer and I started to pay off the credit cards in full one by one. Now my credit score is over 800!

Go to Orchandbank.com. They accept everyone. Most get $1000 Visa. Then pay in FULL each Month. At some point you will start getting credit card offers in the mail because you have this card...then get the best on that fits you

Number one, I would want your cell phone company to report to the credit agencies. You might have to apply for a high interest credit card, or department credit card to get started. If you have family that can co-sign with you, that could be an answer.

Try getting a debit card that reports all payments made to the 3 major credit bureaus. It worked for me my score is 720. If you have no credit you may have problems getting approvals. Start out slow and you should have a score and be able to get credit in your name.
Hope that helps!

request your cell phone carries to report yous acct history to the credit bureau. Then go on-line and find a "Secured Credit Card"co.
That requires a small savings acct with that institution. Acct Bal=Credit Bal. make small purchases and pay them off monthly. Also go and speak with the loan officer at your bank. Some give small loans to establish a history.

husband and I had the same problem...I had established credit back in 96 but had paid off the loan so my credit was "inactive" and my husband is from the UK so has no established credit here in the states...we had a few problems when it came to buying our new car, so we were told to go to a gas station and apply for their "gas" credit card (like a Marathon gas card)...use it once a month and pay it off as soon as we got the bill...so we did, and was able to get our car with no credit problems
