When people say that they will pray for you, do they actually follow through? I just wondered because a lot of people tell me that they're praying for me and God just doesn't seem to be pulling through. Either that or he hates me.

Are these people saying that they'll pray for me to be polite or are they actually doing it?

When people offer their support to others by saying, "I'll pray for you," do they really mean it or are they being polite (or simply offering comfort and sympathy)?

When I say I'll pray for you I usually either do it with them on the spot or if I know they're uncomfortable I'll do it alone as I'm going and doing what ever.

I'll admit, sometimes I've forgotten though.

God doesn't hate you though, but I think you know that. There's a lot fo reasons and this post could go on for a while if I went over all of it with you so I'll just leave you with this:

As children bring their broken toys,
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
Because He was my friend.

At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How can you be so slow!?!"
"My child," He said,
"What could I do?,
You never let them go".

As for God, His way is perfect. Remember, no one suffered as much as Christ, and **HE** was blameless.

I can't tell you that EVERYONE who says they'll pray for you really do, but I know that I do actually pray for the person when I tell them I will, and I sometimes pray for the person without telling them that I will pray for them. God helps everyone in differents ways, and He doesn't always make them obvious. Maybe God is helping you right now and you just haven't realized it. Everything happens for a reason, and He loves you. God doesn't hate you, he just is helping you in a way you don't understand yet. Hang in there with whatever troubles you have in your life. And just keep your faith, things happen for a reason

I dunno ya know? It seems that it has turned into just a nice thing to say, like bless you when you sneeze. I started getting into that bad habit, saying I'll pray for you and then I would never do it. Then I realized that that's just messed up. If I'm saying that, I need to actually pray for the person I told I was going to pray for! And if I have no intentions of praying for them, then I need to not tell them I will. I think God gave me that conviction a lil while ago. Some people say it and do, some people say it and don't. Tis a shame, everyone could use all the prayer they can get!

Depends on the person.
Some say they will and do. Others say they will and forget to and some of it is BS/said it to be polite. I think the last two are more common. Although, I make it a point to keep my promise of praying for someone if I tell them I'm going to.

Most people who say it, do it. When I had my accident, people would ask what they could do and I would say please pray. One woman actually told me I should ask her secretary because "wendy does that sort of thing but its not my gig"... lol

God doesn't always give us the answer we want the way we want it. But you can be sure He can use all things for good. For me, the hardest part is the waiting. Be still and know that I am God. I'd much rather have marching orders sent to my home western union within 24 secs of my request...sort of like yahoo answers... lol

One other thought... have you made a disciplined effort to spend some time with God....giving Him a chance to work in you and giving you a chance to learn His word.... keeping scripture close to my heart helps me a lot. Sometimes when I am talking with lots of people and working really hard to achieve a change, it goes terribly wrong because I need to go to the source.... I need to be a believer and trust God with my problems....that's my personal definition of faith... God Bless You....

If I tell a person I will pray for them, I always do. So, if you really need prayer, just email me. I will pray for you anytime. You can also approach God yourself. Just have faith that He is there and hears you. Ask Him for what you need. He loves you and wants you to know Him. He will bless you. Don't be discouraged if you don't get an answer right away. God does not work on our timetable. May God bless you and keep you!

It depends on the person. There are three categories of people...
1. Those who say it with no intention of following through.
2. Those who say it, intend to follow through, but forget
3. Those who say it and actually follow through.

At a church I used to attend, the interim pastor was aging (has sincec passed away) and his memory wasn't as good as it used to be. So when people asked him to pray for them, he would pray for them right then and there...he was upfront and told him he'd likely forget if he said "I'll pray for you." My husband and I are in the ministry and we strongly believe in prayer, and we aren't the type of people to just say something and not follow through. So when we say we'll pray, we mean it. But there have also been time when things have been so chaotic that I'd have to be upfront and just tell the person "let's pray now so that you know I AM praying for you and am not just saying that." I've been on the receiving end of many empty "promises", so for me, it's important to be very honest about a subject matter so important.

prayer - regarding earth....its something like trying to talk with the higher power to ask for our wishes come true, but actually I believe its all predestined, bible says so too. so what does it matter if they pray or not. bible also says action speaks louder than words.LOL Sorry I am tired, I mean it says a belief without action is dead.

I also think sometimes he hates me because he doesnt take away my illness, but I follow anyway and it does me good even if I dont feel it strongly. I believe you know there may be a truth in it that I can't see right now but that may manifest later, like a help that I can't see now but that is nevertheless essential.

may god bless you. I say it like that but I also mean it: may he give you nice things, days, whatever.

It really depends on the person, but I can assure you that God does not hate you. What kinds of prayers are not being answered? Is it possible that He is trying to teach you something by not answering prayer? Furthermore, are you praying to the right God? That is the most important question. I'd be happy to discuss.

I follow through. Please remember though. Things happen in God's time, not ours. When they happen in His time, it's so much better. We can't rush Him. God loves you just like He loves everyone else, but he also can see the "big picture" and knows your future. He can't give you something when you aren't ready, maybe things have to fall into place first. :-) Keep your chin up, people are praying for you. I don't know what is bothering you or what you need God's help with, but I did pray for you. Take care
