First, you should find a quiet place to study. A place where you can focus only on studying. I suggest you to go inside your room if you want to stay inside your house or go to your friends whom you think can share you their knowledge about what you are studying and be sure that they do not distract you. Avoid foods, music, television, and any other entertainment tools for it will distract you in your studies. In studying, you should remember important points or notes even it is just a little information. That's it! But the best way to have a god study is just enjoy what you are studying, and i'm sure that while you're enjoying, you can learn more easily. -from monogrith :)

I agree with ladynamedjane
Also try taking a good method of notes, don't just copy down everything go more like this: example: chemistry:

1. Archemedes Principle
- Law that states "The buoyant force on an object in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object."
- An object floats (has buoyancy) in fluid when the fluid has exerted an upwards force on the object.
~explains:
why steel ships float, why hot air balloons fly.

2. Daniel Bernoulli
- Swiss mathematician who studies the properties of moving fluids such as water and air. Fluid = anything that flows.

2.5. Bernoullis Principle
- Law that states "As the velocity of a fluid increses, the pressure of the same fluid decreases."
~ Explains:
How planes fly

That wasjust an example from todays notes in chemistry/physics...

Highlighting names, explains, and quotes are pretty helpfull too.

Sometimes teachers give tutoring, you can go during your lunch period or before/after school. They are helpful and will give you tips on studying. After all, they are proffesionals. They went through college.

I hope that between all of the answers you get you find a way that suits you!

Study to learn and you will do better than merely striving for good grades. Study while it is still fresh, have someone test you, and review the night before. It does take time. Don't expect all information to soak in without effort. Everyone has different subjects in which they excel.

I have struggled with this too, I put a sign on my door "do not disturb", take the phone off the hook, try to have good lighting and plenty of water to drink it helps a lot!

Do your homework when its assigned, don't skip out and find the answers on Yahoo.

Do your assigned readings. take notes in class. Ask questions, participate in class discussions, even if you are the only one discussing!

Keep up with the work and you'll do well.
