I agree with RW except that I want to make an important point:
In judaism, its theoretically possible not to sin and jewish scriptures speak of certain people for whom that was actually the case.

Christians are the only ones that believe in original sin. Muslims and Jews don't.

Jews and Muslims dont have a concept of original sin. they beleive that a person is born without a sin. but during the lifetime one does/doesnt sin and will be rewarded or punished in Hereafter.

I refuse to affiliate with formal religion .. and no I don't believe we necessarily inherit the sins of our ancestors

Not really. Since Adam sinned, we were physically punished, but there is no spiritual taint.

Judaism has no concept of original sin.

that is, we are born innocent.

our sinning is our own doing, that we chose,

its inevitable that we will "sin" due to our imperfect and incomplete nature.
