to be gay? I dont remember having a choice during puberty i saw a girl and liked them. Religions have hurt morality. Time to use a few brain cells and grow up. Sexuality is biological a few chromosomes here and there.
Therefor not sinful!

Yes, I agree. It's time for religion to catch up. The problem is that the religious texts were written 3000 years ago when they couldn't possibly understand homosexuality.

Well, there is a physical aspect to things, and there is a spiritual aspect to things. Since this is the religion and SPIRITUALITY section, I don't mind mentioning the spiritual side. There's our world, and there's God's world. In God's world, there's God and then the opposite of God. If God did not intend for a man and a man to be together, or a woman and a woman to be together, why then would he make someone who is gay, born to be gay? It doesn't make sense. So when you connect the dots of God, the opposite of God, the opposite of God's intention, equals a perversion of the intended, ah ha! There ya go! The opposite of God, aka the "devil", is out to do the opposite of what God is, which is to destroy, ruin, twist, pervert, kill. He's pissed at God for being God and wants to get back at Him. How can he do this? By going after God's favorite thing, US. I'm not saying that being gay ruins that persons life, but your question just helps prove this point. Gayness has become an issue amongst people, it has caused strife. Not the actual PEOPLE cuz they're cool, but the fact that they are gay. It seperates people, causes people to judge other people and condemn them, etc. It's all some evil tactic. K, tired of explaining, are your dots connected now?

Right on! I recently read something about a gene being found that dictates homosexuality. Wish I could remember where. Certainly blows holes in the "choice" nonsense. I guess I chose my green eyes, too. Here's one that I really laughed at. Two male dragonflies going at it. (I saw them.) Did they make the "choice?" Face it. Religions reject A LOT OF THINGS. But, I'm seeing a little less bias about it--encouraging. I'm hetero--& I didn't choose.

"The only people not rejecting homosexuality are people who are homosexuals"

Excuse me? I'm all for gay rights, and I'm in a very committed hetero relationship. To use the askers phrase it's "time to use a few brain cells and grow up!"

For the record only those religions based on the Old Testament condemn Male Homosexuality. St. Paul condemned all forms of non-procreational sex, including anal, oral, the use of contraceptives, and any position other than the missionary. Masters and Johnson once defined the only "un-natural sex act" as one that was physically impossible.

If you are saying that we should accept gays because they are born with the sexual orientation of being attracted to the same sex, than should that not also be the same for those with the sexual orientation to be attracted to children, animals, and the dead? They all were declared to have been born that way in the same manner as gays were. If it is possible for them to deny their nature, shouldn't it be possible for Gays, and even heterosexuals? Doesn't right for one mean rights for all or it doesn't mean anything? Shouldn't the churches be accepting of all orientations?

There's good science to back up your conclusion. Variation in sexual orientation is everywhere in the natural world. See the book "Biological Exuberance" for a survey of the data on mammals (it leaves out the invertebrates, but apparently the spiders can get pretty freaky too ;-)).

I hoped and prayed to be straight for such a long time, but women just never excited me the way men do. Now that I'm honest about who I am and who I want to be with, no matter what the hateful people say, life is good

whatever....religion says not to be gay so I try not to be. thats all. believe or dont believe. nobody knows the truth.

to indie_ you say the behaviour is the sin....but jesus says also if you Think about having sexyou already did it in your heart. so , that's sin as well.

PS: "why then would he make someone who is gay, born to be gay?" is no explanation....why does god make killers, pedofiles, rapists? he also makes them that and its not ok. just because you are doesnt mean what you are is right.

To many religions homsexual BEHAVIOR is the sin. As long as the person refrains from the behavior they are okay.

That's the issue. BEHAVIOR you can control. Too many people are unwilling to separate the behavior from the person.

Some hetero sexual behavior is also sinful.

Religious practice is about self control and abiding by rules that have worked for generations and passed down from generation to generation.

It's that simple.
