Know if you need to lose weight
Health specialist use a measure called BMI, short for Body Mass Index. Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women. This gives a good measure of your total body fat. BMI compares your height and weight. It shows if you are underweight, at a healthy weight, or overweight.
You know how many pounds are there in 1 kg. Do not know let me help you, it is 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds. Check out what your BMI is by using the BMI calculator.
http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm
BMI Category
Below 18.5 Underweight
Between 18.5 - 24.9 Healthy Weight
Between 25 - 29.9 Overweight
Over 30 Obese
Look at the BMI chart to find out how much weight you need to lose to move from obese to overweight or from overweight into a healthy range. Knowing this can help you set a good weight loss goal.

You must have a great body . Having concern about that weight is worrisome . Hopefully you don't think your heavy . I am 5'5" and 103lbs .Many people think I am too skinny . I have remained this weight since I was 16 . I think I have been lucky to have a fast and efficient metabolism . I would have to try very hard to gain weight . Stop looking at the scale until you can't fit into a size 8 .

If you are small boned you are a little under weight. If you are medium boned you need a little more weight and if you are big boned you are way under weight.
Heres the math
5' tall women = 100 lb
add 5 pounds for every inch of height
(this is for medium boned)
so 5'6" = 100 +(6x5)35= 135
How do you feel? Do you have bones sticking out that are uncomfortable so bump up against?
Hope this helps.

I was once told by a personal trainer that you should be 100lbs for the first 5 feet, then 5lbs for every inch after....as a general rule....also depends on your muscle mass of course...but you should be 130...I am 5'6 too, and I weight 127...see my before and after pic http://www.healthandstrength.net I am 127 in that picture and your height. I think you should see someone to get a more acurate reading. Your doctor would be the best one to ask.
Good luck

Body Mass Index value for your weight and height is 18.9.
Normal range is from 18.5 to 24.9.
That puts you on the low end of normal for your size, but still within normal limits.

Your weight is probably normal. Eveyone has a different body type. Just because your short doesn't mean you have to be as sickly as Nicole Richie! :)

Sounds about perfect. Even 5 extra pounds would not hurt you. I am 5'5" and when I was your age I was about 118 and not fat. You are just great!
