Deuteronomy 6:4-5 is a good one:
"4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. [a] 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength"

1. The Old Testament was written to give us the knowledge of sin. Paul says that in Romans 7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, "YOU SHALL NOT COVET."
2 The OT contains much of the prophesies of future things.
3. OT tells the "why" of Jesus' coming
4. OT Is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
5. Greatest source on earth for ancient history.
I'm sure there are many more reasons.

“The time foreordained unto the peoples and kindreds of the earth is now come. The promises of God, as recorded in the holy Scriptures, have all been fulfilled. Out of Zion hath gone forth the Law of God, and Jerusalem, and the hills and land thereof, are filled with the glory of His Revelation. …
In the Book of Isaiah it is written: ‘Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty.’ No man that meditateth upon this verse can fail to recognize the greatness of this Cause, or doubt the exalted character of this Day – the Day of God Himself. This same verse is followed by these words: ‘And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that Day.’ This is the Day which the Pen of the Most High hath glorified in all the holy Scriptures.” -Baha’u’llah

For Jews, the Old Testament is the Bible. The whole thing is a key message.
For Christians, the saying of Augustine best describes it: "The New Testament lies concealed in the Old, the Old lies revealed in the New."

Yes but there is not enough time or space to go into to it here.Keep looking.One clue,without it the new testament would be relatively meaningless.
