My ancestors stoutly maintained that it would be Dutch, of course. A rabbi I know has told me it will be Hebrew; every baby, he said, still remembers the language that will be restored in Heaven, the language of Eden, as evidenced by the fact that a child's first word is often abba ("Father" or "Daddy" in Hebrew).
It will be none of the languages that now divide us, which began at Babel. Babel and its babble will be reversed. This was foreshadowed at Pentecost, where distinctive languages were preserved, not muddled, yet each person understood everyone else. Perhaps there will be as many languages as there are individuals, and yet at the same time only one. What is sure is that there will be no misunderstanding. Language, like clothing, now both reveals and conceals, unveils and veils meaning. In Heaven, language, like clothing, will only reveal.

Dutch? And I've heard that Welsh and Gaelic are prime contenders for that honour.

>It will be none of the languages that now divide us, which began at Babel.

But perhaps Hebrew (or Dutch, or whatever) might have been the original one which existed even before Babel and all the others began then and caused the confusion??

Everyone will be Able to Understand Everyone Else.
But, you won't have to Talk if you don't want to.
When you get Close Enough to another in Heaven, your Souls will Over-Lapp and you can Transfer Thoughts back and forth.
Lot Faster than Talking.
Up to you.
We Could do it Down Here (sometimes happens on its Own) but it would be Very Confusing Thing cause of All of the Darkness Down Here. Would you want others to Read your Thoughts?

We will talk and understand many languages all at the same time. Almost as if a phone line were open and you could hear everyone's conversation. It would sounds like babel to us now but we will be able to understand it in heaven.

There is limitless possibilities to this question because it asks to speculate the unknown. It is like wondering what the names of our descendents will be in 100 years time. We can have some good guesses and we might be right. But it won't change their names and does not help us now.
Whatever the language or communication though, we would all be able to speak it clearly, else there would be confusion in heaven and this would be somewhat contradictory of the nature of heaven as described to us in the bible.

There will be no language in Heaven. Verbal communication is a physical function of the body. It requires lips, toung, teeth, vocal chords, lungs, muscle, bone, and nearly every part of the body. It also requires the presence of air. It is also a function of time, which will not exist in heaven.

None of these things will exist in heaven. We will not need to manipulate matter and energy, as we do now, in order to communicate. Hearts and minds will be laid bare. Everyone will know the entire heart of everyone else.

You're right in a way.
There will be no language.
Thoughts will just be sent to eachother.

That is my conclusion, although I do not necessarily believe in heaven, I believe in other dimentions or planes or whatever. So I assume it would be the same in heaven. It's the same idea. Souls connecting and communicating effortlessly.

Think of it like telepathy. That's what it is, come to think of it.

With all due respect, this question strikes me as being about as meaningless as discussions about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. I can hardly picture there being a heaven at all, let alone to believe that it will be just a spitritual world continuation of this one. If that's your faith, feel free to believe as you wish, but personally, I think it's as Shakespeare might say about it: "Much Ado About Nothing."

God tells us if no you may understand even if it really is as if it became babble... each and all of us will be able to understand the words spoken in heaven of their own tongue. The Apostles understood and may want to communicate the words of the Spirit to all mankind, Thomas in India, Peter in Roman, Paul in Samaria, John on Patmos.....
