I know it sounds nuts, but that hiccup trick works for me; where you get a tall cup of water, sit it on the table, and drink from the opposite side of the glass. It may have something to do with the way your air passages are as you drink

Also for hiccups, try a spoonful of peanut butter

The only real hiccup cure is one that treats the hiccups for what they really are. Hiccups are caused by the diaphragm spasming. Taking in as much air as possible, makes the lungs expand and push down on the diaphragm. This stretches the diaphragm out to it original position and shape. Hold the breath as long as possible, just don't pass out, and let it out. Voila', no more hiccups. It works every time.

If all of the above dont work.. just watch a horror movie or let something scare U.

OK! WRITE THIS ONE DOWN!!

I am a bartender and have requests to cure hiccups all the time. This is a great little concoction that works about 99% of the time.

* Slice a wedge of lemon.

* Drizzle a few drops of Bitters on the lemon.

* lightly coat the lemon wedge with sugar.

* Pour a cool glass of club soda.

* Bite and suck the lemon for about 10 seconds.

* Drink a few ounces of the Club soda.

* HICCUPS ARE GONE!!! I BET YA!!!

I guess it does pay to watch TV from tome to time. I saw this on Real stories of the ER. Take your thumbs and press firmly right above your eyebrows for several seconds. There is a nerve there that has something to do with hiccups and pressing on it will make them go away. This will work.

I get hiccups all the time. I usually just take some slow, deep breaths from my diaphram. This helps stop the spasms in the diaphram that cause hiccups.

Place a tablespoon full of sugar in your mouth and let it slowly dissolve. This causes your diaphragm to contract slowly expelling the hiccups.
