Hobbled: and your point is ? Just because a bunch of Wahabbi Arabs attacked us does not mean we officially declared way on any sovereign nations.

We have been fighting terrorism for a long time. The problem is, we are not exactly sure how to fight it. Before the administration of President Carter, we had no organized military or civilian agency whose specific mission was counter/ anti terrorism. We usually retaliated by bombing them with conventional weapons. There were many terrorist attacks that we did nothing about, even after Blue Light (the forerunner of Delta Force), Delta Force, SEAL Team 6 (whose mission was changed to counter terrorism after the Viet Nam War). I am a liberal Democrat, with 23 years in the US Army, and it is a difficult type of war to fight. I do not criticize any presidential administration on how they want to fight terrorism, because terrorist tactics change so frequently, and the only way to train for it is to try to counter the latest tactics of terrorists. The war on terror is not a war on ideas. It is a war that is fought against people that have attacked us and killed innocent people.

Plank, i feel your anger, but the president did not invent the war, this has been a long time coming. Bush was not the first president to be in office while attacked, president clinton's term was peppered with terrorist acts. Nothing is completely secure while still preserving some civil liberties. I know you are angry, but direct it towards the people who commit terrorist acts against america, if you cant do that maybe be a positive force for YOUR beliefs, instead of a negative one, as far as your question goes, sounds to me like your not asking one, instead you are making a statement in the form of a question. You are not meeting answers with thought, but with negative passion. I'm not a new age crazy guy, but just a guy reading your words. They are sometimes my words, but reading from someone else makes it sound so different. Try to think about things from other angles.

Wow, I thought tomorrow was when the crazies came out...

War is a conflict involving use of weapons and physical force by states or other large-scale groups, coinciding with a lack of dialogue between the parties.

I think the radical Islamists throughout the world would be considered a "large-scale group".

So, no GW did not invent the "war on terror" other than perhaps the title. The war was started when a group of radical Islamists attacked the US...and that was long before GW. Just ask former President BJ Clinton.

Exactly, Terrorism is an idea, you know why we did it?, The United States had no country to decare as an enemy. We're friends with China, Russia went bankrupt, So we had to invent an enemy. This was done with the help of Rumsfeld, and Larry A Silverstien, and George Bush. Silverstien needed the Trade Towers taken down, They contained asbestos, were outdated, and needed upgrades, just to come up to building codes. Rumsfeld needed A New Pearl Harbor, to get the public to go for extreme amounts of money, needed for the military, for global domination.

Silverstien made 7 billion dollars in insurance claims, Rumsfeld got his New Pearl Harbor, and George Bush got his excuse to take over an oil rich country, being an oil man himself and making a fortune in the war.

So as you can see, the ultra rich elite get to make a fortune and the average working joe and jill get to die so that these people can make their profits. Isn't it funny, that the liberties that they are claiming to protect are the same ones that they are taking away from us?

Part of the weapons systems being built, is the space based nuclear weapons platform, quaintly called The International Space Station. Any one remembering one of George Bush's speeches years ago, will recall, that he did state, that any country that he percieved as a threat to american intrests over seas would be nuked from space. This weapons system is brought to you curtosy of Mr. Norman Augustine, C.E.O of LockheedMartin the Governments and the Worlds largest weapons manufacturer

He didn't have to invent it. Its been going on for a long time. Bill Clinton did nothing about the terriorists even after the 1993 bombing at the World Trade center and the bombing of the USS Cole. He was too busy putting his man part in Monica's big, fat, skanky mouth!

Actually, that is a very good question. War cannot be formally declared against something other than a nation. As for the resolution, how will we know when it has been won? It's not as tho representatives of the country can officially surrender.

Will it be like George Orwell's "1984"? "We have always been at war with Oceania"

In reality the US has not declared war since wwII. I look at the war on terror as similar to the war on drugs. You can't get rid of it completely, but you can hope to contain it.

Yes he invented this war and the bombing of the Beirut Marine Corps barracks, and the 93 WTC bombing and the bombing of the Cole, and he piloted one of the planes that hit the WTC by remote control on 9/11. And yes you can declare war on an idea when that idea is to kill all non-muslims.

No, if i recall we were attacked on 9/11. Terror is not in a country so we can not decalre war against a country. The fruit balls are uneducated and spread out.
