She loves to sit on the potty, and is really interested in using it, but hasnt made the connection yet. I know once she does potty training will be a snap, any advice?

Here's what I did.
Let her watch you go, and explain what's happening. When she wets her diaper, use the same terms you used before, and explain that mommy and big kids do this on the toilet. Ask her if she wants to sit on the toilet.

When she finally goes on the toilet, jump up and down, turn around, sing and dance. My son thought this was so funny, he made himself pee again and again, and refused to get off the potty. He wanted to keep peeing. Once is all it took; he is peeing there everyday now (This was a week ago we started). Sure, he has accidents, but that's what pull ups are for.

Watch her face, and her actions when she goes potty. Take her to the bathroom, and tell her to tell you 'potty'.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, the second child is easier to potty train than the first. Be aware that the more you want them to use the potty, the less they are apt to. It has to be their idea. My first daughter got pee-ing in the potty without any problem but having a bm, she'd go somewhere and hide and do it in her pants. I didn't get it. How can doing it in your pants be better than the potty? I think its the time it takes. Sitting on the potty means waiting. Kids don't like to wait.

I try to catch my two year old when he is starting to poop and the same grunting noise he makes and encourage him to hurry to the restrooma nd put the poop in the potty . I will usually make whatever the body waste sounds like and rush him to the potty and encourage the sound which usually get the results I want. I make sure it is a family affair we all do this and then we all congragulate him by clapping "yeah Camen pottied"! Hopefully he will be pottied in the next couple of weeks!

You shouldn't start potty training until after they make the connection. They should know from the start what it's for.

my advice is everytime you put her on the potty keep her on it and when she goes potty in it tell her yay you went potty your such a big girl and then give her a treat for going potty and the same when she goes poop too. Just keep that up and shell get it. thats what i did when i started my son with potty training and now he knows when he has to go and tells me. it takes a little while for them to learn this so be patient.

This may sound wierd but when my daughter was able to crawl and sit up by herself..i started to sit her on her potty when i was going to the bathroom...everytime i peed she would hear it and she finally connected two and two....im proud to say she was potty trained at 1 year.
Also when she does go ...make a great big deal about it and let her hear u brag on her to daddy and grandma....she likes being the center of attention.

Bring her in there when you go. That's de-mystified the potty for my kids. Sometimes the simplest approach is the most straight forward!

Keep sitting her on it, do it more frequently, eventually she will go while she is sitting.

Also, try to time her sitting maybe 30 minutes after a drink?
Once you think you know how long it takes her to pee after a drink, keep trying to hit that time.

and note what time of day she poops and put her on right before then.
