i always tried to come up with games that were educational as well as fun. i am not that creative but one thing my son loved was i wrote names of animals on different pieces of paper, put them in a cup or whatever. we each took turns pulling out a piece of paper and imitating the animal...sort of like charades for little ones. he loved it, and it was very funny to watch each other try to imitate different animals. he also learned of all kinds of animals. some were very difficult to imitate but that is what made it funny.

Here are some ideas that I came up with:
Coloring
gluing
ripping paper
painting
Lucky Ducks (a matching game)
Hide-n-seek
read books
candy land (for the 3 year old)
kicking a ball
playing tag or I'm gonna get ya
big leggos

cars
Basically they will like anything they can get there hands on and maniupulate. Just remember to have fun!

My youngest is 16 months old and loves animals so we spend a lot of time crawling around purring and meowing or panting and barking. Peek-a-boo and hide & seek are big favorites, too. She loves music and dancing so I make up words to songs to make them all about her, using her name and all her nicknames over and over while she shakes her little booty and twirls all around (so cute!) We roll balls back an forth which she thinks is hilarious. We also take turns chasing eachother around the house. Mostly I follow her lead and if something makes her laugh, we keep going. Have fun!

I have a 2 1/2 year old. We play... Ring around the rosie, duck duck goose, sing songs, be silly, he loves to dance. We practice crab walking, wheel barrow walking, and kangaroo hoping, frog jumping, trucks. Just use your imagination and let them lead you. You will find SO much to do.
My son's favorite - Hide and seek. It keeps him entertained for hours.
Nickjr.com has lots of educational interactive games on-line to. They are a lot of fun.
Good luck.

Play with Tickle Me Elmo TMX, while you read them stories. It's a good strategy for learning. You may also browse this site http://www.upkb.com/elmotmx.php for product tips and details.
