Don't worry mom!! I did the same thing about my girls, and its ok!! I have one who is 5'4" and the other is 5'10"., and they grew inches up until they graduated. But I will tell you this, my daughters brother in-law is 20, and he had severe leg cramps and had to go to the doctor. He was laughing when he told me this, he said, "" hey big boy", do you realize that since you were in her for your physical for work almost 2 yrs ago, that you have grown almost 2''?? He laughed and said, your kidding??""" Nooooo,,, I'm serious""", he told the doctor he thought he had washed his pants wrong, and they had all shrunk, LOL, LOL. But he had grown almost 2", he said, the doctor said, that some boys continue to grow until their 21, and not to worry. He is 6'4" now.!! So just relax, he's not nearly thru growing., especiall y if he's eating mom/dad out of house & home, LOL!!!

I wouldnt be concerned 5' 6" is fine for 14 and yes he will have several growth spurts. Just make him feel comfortable about himself and let nature take its course. Good luck Curious 2006

Get ready for a spurt squirt! You can grow up to two inches in 24 hour.

It might be more significant if the 14-year-old hadn't grown in 4 years, rather than 4 months. Four months isn't very long. I hate to break it to you but you will be as tall as has been genetically predetermined.

nothing. peole have growth spurts at awkward times, there is no definite time when a person grows or rate. look to the parents/ g.parents and your question might get answered that way, genetics.
