You really are a taxi driver, aren't you?
Sod the customers. They take you for granted, usually in a p*ssed up state. Chuck 'em out on Cheetham Hill Road, and go party at their expense.

Well, First Of All, Why Did I Return It?
No, Heh...
Umm, Well, Ive Dealed With A Whole Lot Of Crap From Different Kinds Of People, And In The End, Its Their Descision To Be Uncouth Like That.
Ever Heard The Phrase "God 'l Getchya Back?", Well, I Would Have To Say That Thats True For Both Sides Of The Story Here.
One Way Or Another, I Think Both Will Get What They Deserve.
Shutting You Out Just Shows That The Person Isnt Much Of A Social Person, Or Probably Doesnt Have To Great Of A Life At The Moment. And You Returning It, Just Shows Great Morality.

If he were absent minded enough to lose his wallet, he probably didn't think to thank you.
On the other hand. If his wife or one of his kids had taken his wallet and lost it, and a stranger came to the door with it,he might have thought at the time, that closing the door, was the nicest thing he could do.

I got thrown to the ground when I returned a credit card sent mistakenly to my home so I would enjoy spending the money and flog the credit cards to the junkies down the pub..

*raises eyebrow*
"Ok dude, you are an ***. I don't know what kind've day you've been having, but at least I tried to return the fricking thing."
*proceeds to shove credit cards & cash under his door, take 20-30 bucks, and stuff the wallet in his mailbox.*
Or if I was feeling really vindictive, throw cash all over his lawn, and then leave...

I'd probably mutter something like "Thank you very much, too, ya bugger." I wouldn't have expected a monetary reward or anything, but a "Thank you" to show some gratitude that you were honest enough to return a money laden wallet would have been nice!

i'd get a piece of paper and write on it: 'dear sir, look here, i made the decent effort in doing something very nice for you by returning your wallet and yet you slam the door in my face. if this is how you repay people after all the good they did for you, then frankly you are mistaken, pal. i hope you look at yourself in the mirror and feel ashamed of yourself for what you did. don't expect people to do you favours all of time, especially if you insist in treating them like crap, like you did towards me. what you did to me was disrespectful, rude and uncalled and as much as i would probably give you a right earful, i will not'. i won't put my signiture or name on it though and i'd slip it through his letter box and walk off.

My reaction would be to feel like a complete dumba**. I would probably feel so stupid I would have to look around their yard for something to steal.

realize he's a bitter person and pat yourself on the back for doing the right thing, while relishing in the thought of toilet papering his house, but not really doing it.

I would get over it. At least I did the right thing. (Yeah, I'd be pissed though and complain to just about everyone I knew first...)
