Meek does not mean weak.
Meekness means mildness of temper, without haughtiness or vanity. The mental disposition that enables one to endure injury with patience and without irritation, resentment, or vindictive retaliation. Surely such qualities makes one strong!!

The antomyn of meek is not strong. The opposite of meek is arrogant.
There are so many strong characters in the Bible it is hard for me to believe God views anything is wrong with being strong. Strength, both physical, and spiritual, are quite noble traits.
On the other hand arrogance is defined as overbearing pride. Overbearing pride is not a noble trait. Meekness or humility on the other hand are also noble traits.
For example an act of kindness is done by a person who is quite humble. Whenever I humble myself and hold a door for a perfect stranger it is an act of meekness.
Conversley, an arrogant person would not even consider humbling themselves to do as such.
God might be a beatnick, but rest assured he has no problems with jocks, unless of course, they are arrogant!

Wow! Do you ever not understand the meaning of "Meek".
John Wayne Characters usually personified the essence of "meek"; as defined by what "meek" meant in 1611 when the Bible was translated into English.
Meek meant strong and rather silent. Not complaining. Perserverence. The ability to withstand those who treat you (or seem to treat) you unfairly. A search for cooperation even during times of chaos.
Only in the last 50 years has the meaning of "meek" taken on an understanding of weak or mealy mouthed.
However, comma, Why would such a person, as originally meant by the expression, inherit the Earth?.
"Wayne, darling, get back on point. Hurry up and tell us more about God and his ancestors on Planet Big H." - signed, Carolyn
Well, the point is that Big H, after several billion years, discovered that cooperation and a few loving changes will beat fighting and competition in the long run.
I know, I know; we, whether we be animal, insect, vegetation, or bacteria, survived to this stage because we were able to adapt and destroy or evade our enemy; whether it was in the form of a climate, hunger, vegetation, insect or whatever and whoever.
I know, I know; competition has been the driving force for almost all advancements in science and technology; here on Earth. "
However, competition, either in industry, or with your siblings, or even at your body's cellular level will eventually lead to problem and eventual death.
Yes, you die for one simple reason; competition wears out your body.
Maybe, Jesus, from an advanced planet, we call Heaven, was thinking how his planet citizenry finally mutated to cellular cooperation and achieved eternal life.
Eternal life?

You think that a meek person is weak.Meekness does not always show
cowardess. Take for instance You can look at a old Chinese man that is a master in the Martial arts and looking at his demeanor think he would run at the drop of a hat.He has all the power and knowledge to take your life and not even break a sweat but he has all that knowledge and power UNDER CONTROL and only uses it when it is necessary to
protect his self or protect someone dear to him self.
Jesus was this way he was God in the flesh and could have completely blinked his eye and a legion of angles would have come and
destroyed his enemy but Jesus kept his Almighty power under control
and FINISHED HIS WORK TO SAVE MANKIND just like he planed even before he created everything. This is true meekness.
In Christ in LOve,,

A strong meek person is one that does not let people hurt others, upholds the laws of the community, takes the responsibility of being a parent seriously, and other traits that are considered "good" please GOD.
A meek person being prideful, arrogant, abusive, and the other "bad" traits probably will not please GOD.
Here's a thought: maybe the strong are in heaven, and the meek are on Earth, after the rapture.
No human really knows - so all answers could be right.

The "meek" inherit the earth, not because they are wimpy, but because they are humble in spirit (a la, they are humble or meek and willing to follow what God says to do in the bible. Just because someone is an Alpha male or a physically strong person says nothing as to how 'meek' they are)

You are mistaking the word meek for weak not the same at all. The meek will inherit the earth because they strive for peace, they reflect Christ in love and compassion. they do not put themselves above others. They put the will of God before the will of man.

you have a ingredient that believers will 'appropriate' not understand or attempt to mushy mouth some thing else into your words. yet, all that passiveness that's assume to be indoors the NT replace into directed on the Jews, to purpose to get them to remodel to the warm faith, catholicism, so as that they may well be greater honestly controlled. as appropriate, many slaves have been changing to Judaism and the Romans have been in touch, by way of actuality the Jews might desire to desire to then develop a extensive military against Rome. So, as a result. they tried to remodel them to end them scuffling with against Rome's rule over them. It did not paintings, so Rome and the beginnings of christianity slaughtered many thousands of hundreds of Jews, and that persisted solid by to Nazism and Hitler killing thousands of hundreds greater. The NT began the hatred of the Jews worldwide, and that's between the optimal poor subject concerns guy has ever achieved. talk approximately how surprising christianity is, greater appropriate think of of decrease back.

The opposite of meek is not the strong but the arrogant who use it carelessly.
The arrogant WILL NOT inherit the earth, in fact we are on the verge of losing it.

Meek does not mean weak. Meek means humble. The proud will not inherit the earth.
Are you too proud to admit that you're a sinner in need of a Savior?
