Are you sure of the date she was bred, and that she didn't conceive from a later breeding?
Are you even sure she 's actually pregnant? A cat or a dog often can be bred, fail to conceive, but go on to develop a false pregnancy in which their body shows all the signs of pregnancy EXCEPT the uterus doesnt enlarge because there are no babies.
72 days is the longest for a cat to take a normal pregnancy statistically, while 57 days is the earliest a kitten can be born, and have lungs developed enough to survive. I had cats deliver 58 day kittens but the longest a cat ever went in pregnancy in my personal experience, was 65 days (a litter of two, the larger the litter the more likely they are to come early, the smaller the litter, the more likely they are to be born on time or a day late.) I knew the date the females were bred however, because I was breeding show cats in a controlled situation where I knew when the female was put with the male and at all other times, the females were kept securely in their own cattery. When dealing with outdoor cats, for example, its hard to pinpoint when the cat was actually bred, even if you witnessed one mating. A cat can mate a number of times during the few days that she is in receptive heat. If for instance, you witnessed one mating, but the mating the cat conceived on was a week later, that creates a big difference in expected due date
Have the vet check the cat to see if she is even pregnant. Toward the end of pregnancy, it is easy for a vet to palpate and feel if the cat is actually pregnant.
Cats and dogs in false pregnancy go through all the behaviors, nesting, and even make milk. I've had a few instances even where a mother couldn't feed her babies and a cat or dog in false pregnancy who had been in heat near the same time as the mother, took over the babies and made enough milk to feed them during the night so I only had to tube feed in the daytime!

I am sorry to say, but cats, just like people can have problems with pregnancy. You need to call a vet and tell them your situation, maybe they will or recommend another vet or humane society that can give your cat an examination for less that normal. Your cat is worth that. God luck to you, your cat and her new babies. They will be adorable.

How do you know she is overdue? No matter what kind of animal, due dates are not exact. They're only estimations. Be patient with her. If she seems to be in serious need of medical care, then take her to a vet regardless. If you love your cat, you'd do so no matter how much it costs.

IF YOU ARE THAT WORRIED ABOUT IT, YOU SHOULD FIND A VET WHO WOULD BE WILLING TO WORK OUT A PAYMENT PLAN WITH YOU IN ORDER TO GET HER CHECKED OUT. VET'S ARE ALOT NICER THAN PHYSICIANS & DENTISTS WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!!
