Well your cat might be teething (where teeth break through the gums) or it might just be trying to be playful. you might get a yarn ball or something for it to play with w/ its teeth.

KITTENS BITE WHEN THEY PLAY SO SOFT SO VERY HARD
NEXT TIME WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING THEY BITE TELL NO FIRMLY AND GIVE THEM A TOY DID IT EVERY TIME THIS WAY THEY KNOW THAT TOYS ARE FOR BITING NOT YOU.

They want to play and they are just being kittens.

It's just not kittens, but adult cats also.

It's just a form of playing with you.

If it gets bad then your cat is telling you to respect her/him and get away.
