it is a little boring...but someone said it takes 6 hours!!! NO! More like 4 hours (maybe I just drive fast). It is a pretty quick drive though and Barstow is sort of a halfway point with lots of fast food and an outlet mall if you want to take a break. Baker is another small town to stop on the way, as well as Primm, once you cross the border.

Yes it is a long boring drive. But to Las Vegas? It's worth it.

Stop in Barstow at the In'nOut and the outlet malls (if you're bringing any females), and then stop at the state line to walk around their mall a bit (the food court is in the back, and it's not bad). Other than that, yes, it's incredibly boring. And I've heard not to drive back on Sunday nights, because the 210/15 merge is causing major headaches.

It's so boring, grow wings and fly. Seriously. Fly.
Pay for the airline ticket. It's worth it.
It's 6 hrs of shear boredom. Books on tape are good.
The outlet stores in Barstow are a good break. Clean bathrooms.
Stateline is another place to break.
If you leave from the Westside of L.A. or the SF Valley... take 14 to Palmdale and the Pearblossom Hwy over to Apple Valley/Victorville you will save a lot of traffic.
Fridays are awful.

With all the gadgets and phones and games and media players and portable this and that, the ride will end in no time flat. Just a stop for lunch will break up the trip nicely. I suggest Victorville or Barstow. Also, State Line (Primm) has an outlet mall. Oh, Barstow has outlet shops too.

Okay, it's boring, but there are a couple points of interest...like the world's largest thermometer in Barstow, you just gotta see that! I said a couple of points of interest, didn't I? Hmmm, well, that thermometer is all I can think of. Your best bet is to call Southwest Airlines and fly instead, you're there in one hour, versus the hours of traffic you'll sit in due to accidents and/or road construction. Good luck and win big!

It's very boring. Long stretches of desert nothing on the 15, and then lights.
Luckily, I have always been a drunk passenger.

Not only boring, but lots of traffic if you go at the wrong time (esp. the start or end of the weekend). You may also want to know that with some freeway construction going on now, it'll be harder to make that trip.

I'd fly if I were you. It's takes like 45 minutes compared to a five hour drive by car.
