I seem to recall that in form the prayers were similar to Luther's morning and evening prayers, but they were written especially for shut-ins.

If you feel like praying, write your own. At least they will be sincere.

The best prayers to our Heavenly Father are those from the heart; seldom recitals from established text unless certain ordinances must be followed to the letter.

All your prayers needn't be recited, but pray earnestly of the desires of your heart while thanking God for the many blessings you receive.

A general rule of prayer order is:

1. Open with "Our Father in heaven."
2. Thank Him for whatever blessings you receive.
3. Ask your heart's desires, that which is important to you and family.
4. You may also ask the Lord to bless certain people or groups.
5. Close in the name of Jesus Christ.
