you could go to your salon and have them dye it to a color that matches ur roots so you can just let it keep growing out w/o really noticeable roots...then after a while you wont have to dye it any more

I know exactly what you mean, I dyed my hair in April, and ended up hating the color, so ever since I have been trying to get it back to my natural color and it's been difficult. After trying to match my hair to permanent hair colors and dye it back naturally, I decided to go the semi-permanent route. These hair colors are supposed to last 28 days and wash out gradually. They really work nice, and in the end, you'll have no roots and eventually when your hair grows out, you can cut the colored, unnatural hair off and you'll be done. Meanwhile, you won't have to look at the ugly roots all the time.
I usually color about once a month or so, my favorite brand is Clairol Natural Instincts. Give this a try and see if it helps, good luck!

If you don't want to keep dying it, it would be worth it to just let it grow out. Your hair is probably really damaged already, and dying it again would be bad. You don't want it to get to the point where it starts breaking, do you? Dying it also takes away the shine and body. Plus, coloring is expensive!

The stage while you're growing out the color can look pretty akward, but there are some things you can do. Shampoos that put a little bit of color into your hair each time (but it doesn't damage it) help even it out, and playing with new styles and cool accessories (like headbands, hats, and clips) are also a good idea. If you can live with the multi colored hair while it grows out, that's great too! Whatever you decide, be sure to condition it well so it gets/stays healthy, and get regular trims to get rid of the dead, colored ends.

Good luck and have fun with it! Remember- it probably looks worse to you than it does to anyone else, so don't worry too much about it.

You can use a stripper on your hair to remove MOST of the dye, but it won't ALL come out & you'll need to find a color that matches your natural color & use it to "streak into the leftover colored hair. If you can afford it, go to a salon to have this done. It could cost $125 & up, but it is a one shot deal & you're done forever if they do it right. You will need to use special shampoo & conditioners to keep it looking healthy. My stylist recommended Matrix Curl life & it works great, yet is a bit pricey over the other brands. I am in SO California & my hair gets a lot of sunlight, so I need to protect it while it is "growing out". I have been doing this for 18 months & probably have another 2 years left until my natural color catches it with the damaged hair & it all blends it together! I think it was worth it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I regret so much ever coloring my hair! I started lettimg my natural color grow out and then I had the colored part cut off ALLOT. My hair is naturally medium brunette ,I still had some red ends even after cutting it so much,so I had a demi permanent color put on. The demi color only deposits color,it does not lighten and deposit like regular permanent color does,it works much better for people that are trying to get their natural color back, it fades to,but you can recolor more often because it does not damage the hair like regular permaent color does, you won't get that red faded look either. Anyways, yes it is worth growing it out . The process is such a pain, but honestly natural hair is so much healthier and prettier then hair that has been chemially altered. I do recommend cutting some off . Good luck

Why not get a short , stylish cut and put in a rinse to match your roots. A rinse won't damage your hair like a harsh dye job. You will have to keep putting the rinses on until all your color grows out, but you will stop the damage to your hair. Once you go natural, don't change your color again. It's always best to be your natural self.

If you want to grow out your natural hair colour, go for it. Your hair will be healthier and benefit from less dye.

If the roots are bothering you, try wearing scarves and pinning it back to hide them a bit. Don't worry about what people say about your roots - it will grow out soon enough.

Also, if your hair colour is fading too much, make sure it's not just because you're only getting a semi-permanent colour. Ask your hairdresser what shampoos and conditions they recommend to keep colour from fading.

It's worth it if you like your natural color and want to keep it. If you plan to just start messing with it again as soon as you grow it out I dont know if I would or not. There are temporary colors you can get now if you are growing out and want to look good for a special occasion. Get one closest to your natural color and try that. Also, If you are trying to grow your hair longer remember that It wont be as easy because you wont want to cut the ends as much. Good Luck.

If you feel it isn't all that noticable, I would let it grow out naturally. It's is almost impossible to completely match your natural colour, so you would constantly have a root problem. If it is really noticeable, i would just put in HILITES of you natural colour, (reverse hilites) to avoid a stripe down your head as it grows out. This will give you a more natural look

i think u should go to a haircolor which is almost same to your haircolor which blends well even when ur hair roots grow. Also its best to stop the coloring again and again cuz u r goin to loose a lot of hair in future and the hair will not have any strength if u keep on coloring again and again..u have to consider many things before coloring
