I had an MRI done on my head. During the MRI it induced an instant migrain. Then just after I wasn't able to see, stand, walk or eat properly (like being ill). Later that night all effects disapeared. But I noticed I didn't need to use my reading glasses, they made things blurry, I was fine without them. This lasted for around 3 days.

I am also Bipolar and was wondering what effects magnetics has.

Has anyone had similar side effects or others?

I have not had a patient who experienced what you describe after a brain MRI, even when we used the IV contrast. I am thinking that your symptoms were coincidental, and you would have experienced them even if you did not have the MRI. BUT, there is nothing wrong with calling your doctor for reassurance.

I work in radiology and there is not any side effects to the MRI itself. It might have something to do with the Gadolinium if they gave it to you. Usually it's just a warm flushed feeling though, not headaches after the fact.

No side effects, if they had to use contrast you might feel a little warm and a little different but not to that extreme. I've had several and I only have to deal with the clostrophobia and say I won't do it again but, I always do because I have problems.
