Usually the same brand will take the same lenses. It is a mechanical issue. I did that with a Nikon and it was perfect (Actually better than perfect since the image size on a digital camera is one-third smaller so it is like getting a zoom lense one-third longer in focal length)

Probably, but I dont know for sure with Minolta. Canon digital SLRs will take old lenses, but there is a "multiplier" effect, caused by the fact that the sensor is smaller than a 35 mm film frame. With Canon, the multiplier is 1.6, so a 200 mm lens has a focal length of 320 mm on most of their digital SLRs. I think Nikon's multiplier is 1.5.

I have the same problem, it is caused by the delay in the shutter. Before you buy check to see how much delay is in the sutter[ from the time you push down on the shutter release to the time the shutter actually fires.] I'm looking at a Fujifilm Fine Pix S7000, It is a lot less that a SLR, but has a very good rating by the Professionals and the shutter reacts within 1/10 of a Second. Check it out.

Oh! I love Minoltas! My old SLR lenses are configured differently and don't fit my new one. However, that's just mine. If I were you I would go to the largest camera store in your area and find someone in the store who is actually competent and present this to them. If you have no luck, I do have a friend in another part of Flordia who is a photographer and I will ask them for you! There may be adapters to make them work.

Since noone actualy answered your question....
YES, you can use them on the now discontinued Maxxum 7D/5D and/or the Current Sony Alpha A100.
You may have issues with the flash though....

Try mounting them. I know that you can use your SLR lenses to a digital body of NIKON. I'm not sure of other brands.

usually the issue is whether or not the old lenses are auto focus. If they are not, you are probably out of luck
