Because the news media needs something to hold viewer interest. Remember "The Summer of the Shark", that article in Time magazine? In that year there were actually less shark attacks world wide than in previous years. The media plays up a few isolated attacks and boom! Instant paranoia. Wait until we take a big hit from a meteor, which is actually about due. It's happened before but CNN didn't exist then to slant things to make people afraid.

i believe your right death is a part of life. there can't be life without death there is a balance. if you could live forever than you would never try to reach your goals and put it off. death tells you there's an end and you should make something with your life before the end arrives. without death the world wouldn't go on because when you die your body decomposes and bacteria feeds off it then plants feed off it and the plants feed animals and humans who die and the cycle starts over. this is life and why we should do the best that we can to provide something for the next generation.

Would you like a tornado to come down and blow you away? Answer that question and then you'll know the answer to your own question. And yes the dinosaurs would probably consider their extinction bad.

The problem is not in classifying them as good or bad but in people living their lives choosing one outcome over the another. equanimity of mind must be practised - heat or cold, good or bad, happiness or sadness, one must be established one own true self.

And that self is changeless and eternal. The Self is the Truth.
