I use to use regular alcohol. It's cheap and works just as good if not better than acne meds.

Washing your face alone doesn't cure acne. Some cases are worse than others, and a lot of what comes out of your body depends on what you put into it. I look at acne as a symptom to something deeper with in myself. So, I have to ask myself some questions. Like what are some of my stresses in life right now? What am I eating? Stress can cause people to get the munchies, and a lot of people opt to eating very poorly when they are stressed out. If I eat high carb, oily foods like Cheetos, Doritos or any of these types of 'junk foods' and wash it down with a soft drink or two then this may be contributing to my poor skin condition. Am I drinking enough water during my day to help flush the toxins in my body out? Try drinking more water, if you are stressed to the gills, and sit in front of a computer and munch away, get up and go for a walk instead, get that engine running and instead of grabbing a pop, drink some good old fashion h2o. Hey its worth a try, isn't it.

Buy a bottle of witch hazel at pharmacy, wal mart or the dollar store and if you have bad pimples use it on them with a cotton ball and throw it away after each one. Once your face clears you can just clean your face with a wash cloth . It is 1-4 bucks and is a natural astringent and PH balancer. You can put an antibiotic ointment on the pimples at night after cleaning and that should do it. Always wash your hands a lot. Touching a pimple and another part of your face spreads the bacteria which is what causes them in the first plase. My daughters have used it since puberty and as adults they still use it and have beautiful skin. Good luck.

You probably have used Retin-A (tretinoin). If you only improved slightly maybe you need a higher strength. In addition, your doctor could add a topical antibiotic. If these don't result in a definitely good result, then the last resort would be Accutane.
Don't give up if the medication is not working as well as you want. Get back with your doctor.

Since you didn't say where your acne is I will tell you this, if it is on your face... wash it daily with hot water and vinegar until it clears up, if it is on your body .... take a bath in hot water and 2 cups of vinegar daily until it clears then do it as often as needed to keep it clear.

Using an drug called Acutaine works best. It is a six month program which dries your skin out pretty bad but will permanantly remove all pimples.

Sounds odd, but Crest tooth paste actually works. It has to be the paste, not the gel.
