Japanese Domestic Market

Used to describe how JDM something is, meaning that it is generally RIGHT biased/handed. This comes from Japanese Domestic Market cars mainly having right hand drive, as opposed to their USDM counterparts which are left hand drive.

jdm means japanese domestic market, knowing that, you realize that anything thats jdm is from japan, well in japan they drive on the left side of the road, and in order to be able to actually drive normally you would have to have the steering wheel on the right side of the car, came with the pedals, basically how you know everything in your car, just picture that, but reversed, even the techometer is revered so is the speedometer, instead of resting the needle on the left side of the guage, the needle rests on the right side of the guage. also jdm is a sort of thing that certain people stive to achieve. japan cares more about its cars than americans do, thats a fact, so in turn japan makes its cars better for japanese people than american people, which is why americans want those cars so much which is why we even know what it is, but jdm is basically doing as little to the exterior of your car as possible and invest all/any money that you put into the car into making it actually go fast instead of looking like it will go fast, kinda like the opposite of fast and the furious.(bc none of those cars were lower than 13 sec. cars) so back to your question everything jdm is reversed as to what americans know it...which is why "youre so jdm you sleep on the right side of the bed" is somewhat humerous. a word of caution though, never ever, ever, under any circumstances mix up jdm with dsm, people will get hostile.(dsm is diamond star motors, which is a mitsubishi/chrysler merger for the american market)
