Hello,

I was scanning a photo (which is about 20+ years old) into my computer at a high resolution (about 2400 dpi). After viewing the picture while zoomed in there appeared to be all these textured dots in the paper. I know this type of paper has a special name but Im not sure what it is, and was wondering if someone else knew the name? Just to let you know it is Kodak photo paper and it has a flat finish(not glossy.)

Thank You

Sounds like matte paper. Check out this thread on photo.net:

Glossy Finish, Matte Finish, Luster Finish, Metallic Finish.

It is probably "luster" paper. It may be "matte," but that is usually completely FLAT with a dull finish, like flat wall paint.
