there are lots of ways to dress up a bagel---i am going to suggest some of the easiest and most practical.....cream cheese, you can buy the whipped variety, it spreads easier, you can get plain , or flavored like strawberry, onion, whatever....some slices of american cheese, individually wrapped, can be put on a bagel that is butered or not, and eaten , or heated and melted a little, and then eaten...peanut butter in a jar, either chunky or smooth, is great with or without jelly..i like jellys like blackberry, or raspberry, or strawberry, not grape, different flavors like apricot also...these are the most simple for a bagel day..i would limit myself to cream cheese, plain & whipped, to which different jellies can be added, & peanut butter, to which jellies can be added or not...plain butter and american cheese slices are also good, without trying to have a thousand varieties, to please the whole world....when you buy bagels, ask the place to cut them for you, in half, or you cut them before putting them out.....you might want to buy plain bagels, and or cinammon raisen, and or pumperknickel, and or everything bagels, that are covered with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and onions, and salt..you might hold back on pumperknickel, as not everyone likes that dark rye variety !! good luck on your Bagel day..i hope its a great success..ENJOY !!!

Nothing is better than cream cheese and fruit jams and nuts mixed in. I like this first one here very much that a friend made. I included a few more from the diy web site.

For a delicious spread, combine 1/3 cup cream cheese, 1 tablespoon chopped pecans and 2 tablespoons honey (figure A).

Spread cream cheese on a bagel and top with dried apricots, raisins and blueberries (figure B).

A good spread for a poppyseed bagel is 16 ounces of cream cheese combined with 1 tablespoon herbes de Provence and 3 cloves of chopped garlic (figure C). This spread tastes better if you let it sit in the refrigerator overnight so the flavors can blend.

Cream Cheese & strawberry preserves.
Spread the cream cheese and top it with your favorite preserves.
Yo can get "Simply Friut" in the Jelly isle at the grocery store. apricot, strawberry, orange, pineapple, grape, raspberry, blueberry or what ever your favorite happens to be. I like the bagel to be toasted so it's a little crunchy. A BAGEL BAR WITH A TOASTER OVEN & A VARIETY PRESERVES, assorted cheese, sliced deli & smoked meats, lettuce, tomatoes the possibilities are endless!
You can also make little pizzas out of them. Fix up a bar with your favorite pizza toppings and let the kids go through and make there own. Just bake em till the cheese is melted good!!
FUN FAMILY NIGHT!!!
