In the first chapter of Gen., many place this Gap theory text. I'd like to hear the teaching some may have. Takes place between verse 1 and 2 in Gen 1.

SteelerFan,
Yes of course there is. If you have a concordance look up the words "null and void. Hebrew is like English in a way, where one word can mean several things.

It's real easy. All you have to do is examine the verse and write down what you find as to the meanings of the words in Hebrew.

"2 And the earth was without form, and void"

"2 And the earth was without form , and void ."

H8414 tohuw -- pronounced: to'-hoo

from an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), i.e. desert; figuratively, a worthless thing; adverbially, in vain: KJV -- confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.

H0922 bohuw -- pronounced: bo'-hoo

from an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, i.e. (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: KJV -- emptiness, void.

These are simplified versions of the words. An Expository Dictionary will give you further insight into the means and uses of those words.

So I could translated the words just as scholarly into the earth was a desolation and a ruin.

That leaves me to believe the Gap Theory of Genesis 1:2. It makes a lot more sense, that there was a 'before Adam' to all of creation and the Earth before the fall of Satan.

I consider you for the main area. I see no threat to technological know-how. If God did create the universe, then He additionally invented the technological know-how via which that's administered. technological know-how hence can purely let us know greater approximately how and or why God did what He did. i'm unsure what you propose via the "Genesis hollow". I certainly have not heard that expression previously. i be attentive to that Genesis one million could be regarded on as certainly helping the two the "enormous Bang" and evolution. merely the words "interior the beginning up..." seems to indicated a unexpected start to issues. yet greater importantly, it states that God created the earth no longer a as a shaped planet, yet particularly as a "formless void", aka a dirt/moisture cloud. This dirt and water might slowly settle. Scientists say that on earth's formation it rained for 10,000 years. in case you handed off to be on earth at that element you does no longer be waiting to be certain the solar and moon, merely mild and darkness using fact the Bible stated. Then the actual exciting statements... the Bible states for sure that God did no longer zap issues into being, particularly He brought about the EARTH to offer the vegitation and the EARTH to offer animal life. Even the order of visual attraction is comparable to what technological know-how teaches us. you're perfect however there are substantial gaps interior the evolutionary technique that require an smart and reasoning instruction manual for the approach.

I believe "in the beginning" refers to the beginning of time as we humans understand it.
I personally see no gap at all - I don't know what all the hub bub is about either.
In the beginning God created the heavenS and the Earth, and the earth was formless and void - so He decided to do something with it and began the 6 day creation....
As well - to the person who refers to the order of creation, there is no discrepency there either.
God created the heavens and earth, (day 1) separated the water below (earth) from the water above (sky or atmosphere) (day 2) brought the water to one place to bare the land and grew plants, (day 3) let the sun and moon as lights for the earth (day 4 - here is proof that it was 4 literal days, because how could vegetation on the earth survive without sunlight and seasons in place) birds and fish on day 5, land animals on day 6 ALONG WITH MAN AND WOMAN (verse 27).
Chapter 2 - the "second creation" as people enjoy calling it - is actually an amplification of verse 26 and 27 of chapter one. IE - God creates land animals and man.... He took Adam and set him in the middle of a place - a place of wonder where he allowed Adam himself to witness His power as He grew the garden of Eden before Adam's eyes - therefore leaving no doubt in Adam's mind of who God was. He allowed the garden to grow, and raised up every animal AGAIN so Adam could name them. He then created Eve from Adam's rib.

It's quite simple really - but yes, it takes faith to believe it. I believe it, just as I believe every second of every day the miracles that God shows me.

** addition: to anyone believer who questions whether or not the verses described are actually millions of years - this is unscriptural because if there were millions of years between dinosaurs and man, or and older earth and a newer, improved earth, that would mean that there was death before sin, and that simply is not possible as "the wages of sin is death". When the world was created, God said it WAS VERY GOOD. Therefore there could not possibly have been a 2nd creation, or millions of years, as that would make God's declaration void.

Old Earth creationists, who believe in the literal truth of the bible, but also accept the scientific evidence that the earth is much much much older than the 6000 years believed by Young Earth creationists try to fix the problem by claiming there is a gap of 100's of millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2

(sorry, that was long sentence)

There is no reason to believe this version, and there are no other verses in the bible to support it. In some ways, i feel the YEC's are more honest in their delusions...at least they believe the whole silly package and don't bother trying to make it fit the actual evidence.

OEC's should just accept the science that the rest of the bible is mythology as well, and move on.

I don't know what the "Gap Theory" is, but I can pick something out for you in Genesis 1:1.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

"Beginning" means the beginning of time. Clearly, God was before time, outside of it. It also shows that for things to be created, There must be a beginning to them. That proves that God was never created, but that he was always there. It also explains that he did not have a creator himself.

Hopefully that covers some grounds on your "Gap Theory"

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." Genesis 1:1-2. i don't know what the "gap theory" is, but i don't agree with people who think that there are millions of years between each creation of God. it says evening and morning were each day as He created things, and i believe it really took Him 6 days to create everything, and He rested on the seventh day. don't see how inferring makes it better, its not that hard to understand. those who "infer" are just changing to say what they want it to say.

Go to Exodus 20:11 It blows the gap theory to pieces. See the following

11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

All of the above days are equal 24 hour days and that means every creative day was a 24 hour day. That means we take just about everything in scripture as close to literal as possible. That also leads us to an early earth conclusion of about 10,000 years old instead of the multimillions years old conclusion that our public schools are teaching. Sorry to give you this kind of truth just when you thought you could merge evolution and creation together.

That one day gases could have been created before the sun was created to give off light. I don't claim to be a scientist. Just taking scripture for what is says.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

First of all, The Bible is not a textbook of science. Compromises with the Biblical account always lead to a forsaking of the high view of scripture and lead to the adoption of theistic evolution and humanism in one way or another. Most who adopt this view eventually end up forsaking the Bible altogether as a truthful record of creation and the plan of salvation.

All Bible believing Christians who will invite all the world to come out of Babylon and live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God who will receive the seal of God's approval.

The Biblical creationism and the Gospel of Jesus Christ go hand in hand. To forsake one is to eventually forsake the other.

My opinion is that there was a time in that "Gap" that Satan walked the earth and did all kinds of nonsense.Messing with genetics and such and God destroyed it and started over with Adam. There's a passage in Ezekial 28:12-17 that talks about Lucifer being in Eden before he fell and became Satan, that's trippy.I'm not saying Satan had anything to do with mutating Dinosaurs but......
Hey,remember ,God told Adam to RE-Plenish the earth,so something got "UNplenished" right?
