Just take it to the DMV. They will take it and issue a new title.

You didn't metion what state you're in, but I know here in Missouri it used to not be required to have them notarized, but now it is. The dealer should have done this a million times, so I'd trust him.

actual you're LENDING money to a chum, he's borrowing it. you will get an IOU style settlement style at places like staples, or you are able to acquire them on line in distinctive places, yet I quite doubt you are able to placed a lien against his vehicle (and if he has that vehicle financed, overlook it). i've got been googling to work out if this way of style exists on line, particularly for an vehicle call very own loan, and that i'm springing up with no longer something aside from questionable web content furnish to lend money in an vehicle call very own loan...and each little thing I study makes me think of that those style of loans are greater evil and scummy than payday loans. i'm hoping you're actually not making plans to make a private loan to a chum of yours like those i've got been analyzing approximately, with 2 hundred or 3 hundred% expenses of activity and huge balloon money.

if he signed it then you should be cool. I think it should be notorized but that depends on your state. You should also obtain a letter of lien release along with him signing the title.
