2Peter 3:8 Dear friends, here is one thing you must not forget. With the Lord a day is like a thousand years. And a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow to keep his promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. He is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, he wants all people to turn away from their sins.

The funny thing about your post is that I really think that deep down behind this front you are putting up, that you really want to know the answer to this question. This is actually a very legitimate question that even the most devout Christians have at some point in their life. They may ask this question after a series of bad things happening to them, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, divorce, etc. Remember that God isn't looking for you. He knew of you when you were in your mother's womb. God often whispers and sometimes His gifts are in your unanswered prayers. Saying you have looked for Him in the natural world but haven't found Him is unfathomable. Look at nature. Trees, the sky, the change of seasons. Not finding him others? You don't have children, do you? Not finding him in religious scripture? Read HIS scripture. The Bible. There are study Bibles out there to help you understand. I am not fooled by these questions that you ask. You're trying to shock people and although you may be accomplishing that with some, it's not going to work with me. I understand your questions. Someday, you'll get it. I know you will.

You are absolutely right. He is imaginary and he is something people made up just to put fear in certain weak and evil people so that they would be afraid and take the path to righteousness. some People need god because they cannot cope with life but then there are people like me who were brainwashed as a child and now I know better and I have come to the conclusion that God does not exist because if he did exist my life would have been perfect cause I am a good person and good people don't go thru bad things in life.
So ...after i decided to stop believing in a God. My life just has been full of joy and happiness, never been better.
The so called "God" is for people who take a leap of faith..that's all...and for anything to happen in life...you have to believe in something to make you a positive person and that's why most religious people use this "god" so that they can take the right path.
Think about it. If you were born with a brain, do you need a God to tell you what is right and wrong? can't you figure it out?

Your last statement illustrates where your heart really is. When your heart is honestly turned toward God, he will give you everything you need to believe. Its ashame though you couldnt see the truth of him and the truth of man through Scripture. Did you read the entire NT in a readable language? There are many unbelievers that read a couple passages and think theyve somehow mastered Scripture. Did you pray honestly before the endevour?

You said that you looked for Him in religious scripture. I wonder how much time you spent reading the Bible. Get a copy of the New Testament and read the Gospel of John. Read it with the prayer that God would reveal truth to you. Don't rush through it. Read maybe a chapter a day and before reading, pray that God would show you truth in His word. Meditate on it, don't just read it. Think about it. I believe He will reveal Himself to you. After you finish the Gospel of John, read other books of the Bible, especially of the New Testament at first, and also Psalms.
God bless you!

You can keep looking but unless you are blind, you will not find God. You can find a being beyond your understanding, maybe a sort of supernatural force that is so great you can't even comprehend it's existance. I must say that the biblical God is cruel, wrathful, and stupid. It doesn't make sense that you would find it a good thing to believe in him. However, don't become hopeless and too disbelieving. Many atheist go too far, I myself have gone farther than what i had wanted to go in disbelief of many things unknown. Just believe in yourself and find courage in your life.
Also, your adorable little piggy.

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: Mat.12:39. The sign was the resurrection of Jesus Christ. God is not hiding neither does he strike people down we are not under law but the grace of Jesus Christ. It is not instantaneous but God has promised to reveal himself to those who have value in him and seek him with all of their heart. he is reaching out to you everyday it is his will that you come into a relationship with him. If you seek him in his word and in prayer with your heart he will reveal himself to you . If you seek him through a sign the sign has already been made it is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I can pray for you but even better you need to pray for revelation and seek him in his word. what value do you have if you lose a penny in a field? How long will you spend searching for it? but if you lose something priceless you would sell your house and all that you own and buy the field that you might find it. How much value do you have in finding God? You are in my prayers.

For you it may be true. Jesus said in these last days no sign will be given. In fact Jesus already gave you a sign.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Jesus is the only sign the people of this world will get.

Christian Explaination:
Type 1 -- Your heart was never in the right place. You were never sincere enough. But I dont mean any insult...really.
Type 2 -- Satan's been standing in the way.
Type 3 -- (insert legalistic doctrinal explainations from countless Christian off-shoots)
Muhammadean (Islamic) Explaination:
Quran -- God decidedes who he will lead to him, and who he will decieve. Essentially, God is like a nasty kickball Captain chosing and rejecting players right down the line.

This is hard to answer because I can't figure out your motives in knowing God. It says in the bible those who seek God will find him. This process quite often happens in 3-30 years. Have you waited that long yet?
